Be Yourself, Huh?
Today I was thinking. Alot of people (including myself) are quick to judge others on their appearance such as their clothes, the music they listen to and the people they hang around with. With all of this "Emo"/"Wemo" stuff going on round where I live, we're all calling each other fakes, attention seekers, wannabes, plastics etc. It seems everybody wants to be in on this whole "alternative" scene and by doing so it has turned into a fashion trend. By trying to become the people we want to be, we have all become the type of people we hate: crowd followers. Unless perhaps all these other people never actually set out to be individuals in the first place and there initial intentions were to simply follow the latest trend.
Any way enough of that, I shall get to the point I'm trying to make. I was thinking how do you know that you arent just another one of these people. What makes me so special that I can wear black drainpipes, tartan, converse boots and the like but if I see anyone of these "plastics" wearing them I freak out? Why can I say I like punk music but if one of these wannabes says it I get pissed off?
Of course I do have my reasons. Alot of these so called "Sex-Pistols fans" have only ever heard God Save The Queen. There are many people who wear Ramones T-shirts and have never even heard a Ramones song.
Another thing that annoys me is when people try to imply that they are self harming when in fact they are attention seekers. Most real self harmers (and I speak from experiance) would not so readily admit to it and don't tend to "harm" themselves by scratching there wrists with blunt safety pins. Now I'm not saying everyone should go out and self harm to dangerous measures at all. I'm just saying that this makes it harder for people with real problems to come out and get help. I'm also not trying to say that all self harmers are attention seekers.
Basically I'm saying that for how ever long rock continues to be in fashion for, don't expect anything too exciting because lets face it bambi's dead. Am I just another attention seeker? Do attention seekers know they are attention seekers?
I'll probably delete this in a few days when I realise its a load of bollocks just like my last blog.

I SO AGREE WITH YOU!!! There are some people at my school who were total preps and now they all of a sudden are sprouting black dyed hair, Converse, and band shirts? They are still the same people, they just want to feel like a rebel, or whatever. I saw this one kid who had a Green Day shirt on, and I was like 'Whats your favorite album?" and he replied "American Idiot" Yeah ok ....this may seem fine but then I asked, "Whats your favorite song?" and he replied "American Idiot"
There ya go folks, this happens all the time and frankly Im getting pretty damn sick of it. ONLY POSERS DIE.

Dude, it's been like this since rock started. Since the Beatles and all the people who were really into the got their hair cut the same, and let it grow out. And then all the 'cooler' people did it too. And like my dad always talks about how he was the initial David Bowie fan in his school and then all the people started to say the same just because after it became fashion. And my dad had the big hair and face make up and everything and soon everyone else wanted to be as 'different' as that and there's the attention seeking.
That's when my dad became a skinhead, and now nobody follows him, except me. Stupid posers care too much about their hair to lob it all off.

Dude. I f*cking know it. I really just want to punch some people in the face sometimes. There's this one girl who has Misfits' pants at my school. I was like, do you like the Misfits? And she's like, who are they? I wanted to freak out on her. People are so stupid.

Yeah you made a good point.
Everyone just labels anyone. Yes even me.
I think the media's to blame for it, but I just don't care now.

dont delete it you made a good point how to know Im not like them. Simple they dont affect I dont care if they like me or dislike me man. I mean he she wants to be a poser good for them. But I dont go around trying to be less poser or trying this ppl to like me I mean in the end what are we but a bunch of posers?
Just dont care man posers like tthe ones that have heard one ramone song and claim to be fans, more than annoying are dissapointing so why care? You are who you are and you know that
Take me for example I dont know what I want in life and I accept that man. I mean maybe someday I will
