Silent Murders - What's really going on in West Papua
West Papua. 1 hour flight from Darwin, Australia, next door neighbour to Indonesia. Seems like a pretty peaceful place, right? Wrong. Since 1963, 100 000 West Papuans have died in a secret genocide from Indonesia.
How? Not by war. Not by bullets. Through aid. Indonesia has been supplying West Papua has been supplying blankets, purposely infected with smallpox. Sending prostitutes to West Papua, infected with HIV/AIDS. Of course, this means that people who sleep with these prostitutes will be infected with HIV/AIDS.
Why wasn't it covered by the news? It would damage relations. Simple.
