Music generations
I'm not even going to research any of this stuff. It's pretty much my view of music. My opinion. It's basically going to be my little timeline type thing made of music genres. It's pretty much the music phases I went through so far throughout my life.
Blues/Jazz: It all started with my dad. My dad was always listening to this blues stuff. It was jazzy and stuff, something to relax when you listen to it. Most my dad had these CD's in the car when we were driving places, so I always could fall asleep whenever I wanted to. I didn't really like the music. No, that wasn't it. The music wasn't comfortable to me. So I found something else.
Boy Bands: I loved to sing. Blues I couldn't sing along to. I still had my high-pitched little boy voice, so I put it to use. I found a band called the Backstreet Boys (laugh now, you probably liked them too at one point). I knew every word to every song. It felt good singing that kind of stuff. Then I grew up a little. This wasn't my kind of music at all. I need something that wasn't so....girly.
Rock: One of the best times was this. I loved listening to "What's My Age Again?" on repeat. I pretty much loved it. I still had my tiny high-pitched voice, and then I learned the lyrics for it. I felt so great listening to this. It made that funny feeling inside of me. I loved it.
Green Day: So I took a long break from music. Then one day, on MTV a song called American Idiot was on. This was my type of music. I didn't know what to say about it. Nothing was missing. Nothing at all. I bought their albums, posters, sent them fan mail, and even joined this site. Green Day introduced me into a great part of my life.
Metal/Hard rock: Ha, Seether made this one. The song Remedy was opn the radio and it introduced me to a thing called "headbanging to music". It was something that I yell along to when I sang. Since my voice was getting deeper, I needed this to let me sing again. So I started downloading all this music. It was so addicting.
Emo/Screamo: My sad phase of pretty much my whole life. I heard this music around the time my life was horrible. I started cutting, and I could relate to the music so well. It was almost like I was singing it. It was kind of a soft rock and I liked it. The screamo filled in for the metal or hard rock. This was supposedly a great time, but Ithought it was one of the worst.
Punk: My view of music now. Dead Kennedy's, The Misfits, Minor Threat, Anti-Flag, Crass, and NoFX. All of that kind of music. This was music I could relate to, not that emo shit. I stopped cutting and started having fun. I could have fun with listening to this music. And the drums. The drums in these songs were unbelievable. It's what inspired me to start playing drums. The best time of my life.

I've been through a lot of phases that were good and bad. In the end, it paid off though.

I went through some of those. It's weird how someones taste in music can change so much over time. I heard from my brother that the music you listen to the most when you're almost done with being a teenager is the music that'll most likely stick with you for the rest of your life. Because of my brother I think it's true. He listened to some pretty weird crap in his day, but with the music he loves today you can't go wrong.

I'm into punk music now too, but it all started with Green Day. Before Green Day released American Idiot the only thing that breifly caught my attention was Nickleback, when i was ten. Other than that i just loved all my parents music, and it's still some of my favourite stuff. My first favourite band was Fleetwood Mac, and i still love them, and Roxy Music and ELO and Cream. That stuff's on my Ipod alongside Rancid and The Ramones and NoFX and Black Flag now. And Green Day, still =] . And MCR. Lotsa MCR. MCR just clicks with me, i don't care what people say, to me they're f*cking awesome.

Different music fits different mood and age and all that :) *gives cookie*
