"Global Warming Is Natural".. and your point is?
Ah yes, my favorite argument against global warming. You can't deny the fact that the world is heating up anymore, but you still refuse to allow the blame to be placed on Humans. Thinking you're pretty clever? Sorry, no, you aren't.
It is no longer a debatable issue. We know the world's temperature is increasing. Now some scientific, historical, research shows the Earth's temperature shifts over time, alternaing between highs and lows. This has mislead people into believeing that we aren't to blame for global warming. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but you're still not innocent.
Scientists are making a comparison between modern times, and thousands of years ago. Now, thousands of years ago there were no cars, no major factories, and no chemical waste products to pollute the environment. Now, you can't deny the fact that we're also affecting our environment. Burning fossil fuels creates gases that damage our atmosphere, making it trap heat. It would be totally ignorant to compare two totally different types of environments, and the only purpose in doing so is to mislead citizens politically. Now, if global warming is also natural, then we're really in trouble, because we're speeding up this natural process!
I don't understand how anyone could be so foolish as to assume that because global warming may be natural, we don't need to worry about it. Well, the polar ice caps are still melting, animal habitats are still going to be destroyed, sea levels are still going to rise. The Earth we live on doesn't care what causes global warming, the effects will still be the same. Why would we want to do anything to possibly speed this process up? We don't! Fossil Fuels need to become obsolete, we can't risk harming our environment anymore than we already have. What ths initial cause of global warming is will remain highly debatable, but the cause isn't what matters at this point. The effects are the truely dangerous thing, and we need to do everything we can to stop them from occuring. Claiming that its a natural process will solve nothing. To be fair, saying that fossil fuels are causing it will fix nothing. Only acting on these statements will help to save our environment.

We have to do something!
It's our fault!

Global warming is our fault and it's up to us to stop it.
My friend's mother's ideology is this: "We'll be dead by the time it happens, so it doesn't matter."
What she refuses to accept is that her very own DAUGHTER will very well still be alive, and will have to live through the disasterous consequences of Global Warming. She herself will probably still be alive, because at the rate we're going, it'll be irreversible in the next 30 - 50 years.
There's still time to change. Everyone can make a difference. We need to stop being lazy and put our recyclables in the bins instead of the garbages. Take that little walk to work instead of walking. Turn off the lights when you really don't need them. :] If we all do our part, we'll be able to keep the Earth healthy for our children. ^__^

You should Kurtni send that to the newspapers.
I love it how when people stop blaming themselves for something, they stop caring as well. You know what? Even if it is nature made I highly doubt it would evolve so quickly if it wasn't for man kind that screws up the nature daily.

Yeah, you do. You always make good points. Even when I disagree with you, I can always see why that is your opinion.
Demonic., June 19th, 2007 at 03:53:26pm
I think you should do it. You have good arguments.

No, I wasn't refering to your blog. My blog was inspired my some idiot who wrote an editorial to the newspaper about how global warming isn't a problem we can fix. Im thinking about sending this in as a reply. I'd have to shorten it a little bit.
Kurtni, June 19th, 2007 at 02:00:37pm
I didn't know that. I haven't heard that. But damn that's just stupid. I think you are refering to my blog a little, right? If yes then I'm happy that it started people to think critically again.

Oh, there are plenty of people who think we should do nothing about global warming. Its sadm but its true. Obviously not all of them, but its used as an excuse all the time.

Scientists who say it's natural say that ups and downs in temperatues are normal.
what if it really is a natural effect of the aging of our Earth maybe, well...more the aging of our sun? This would definitly NOT change anything about the fact that we should care for our environent. And I also don't think that people who believe in a natural process say that we should just sit and wait and do nothing. Nevertheless, there is absolutely NO DOUBT that humans make it worse and of course humans are to blame. So no matter how big the human's fault on this "catastrophe" is, we are the only ones who can do something about it. ...and should do something about it.
