It Is Absolutely Degrading and Disgusting
I'm not exactly sure the direction this blog is going to head in. All I know is that I've got something to say, and I'm going to say it.
Why is it, that 15-16 year old girls, (and even younger), feel the need to post provacative pictures of themselves all of the internet? And by the "internet," I mainly mean the most popular spot to find this behavior: Myspace. There are already enough weirdos out there that look at these girls' profiles when they don't have half-naked pictures of themsevles on their Myspaces; and the thing is, they know this. Yet, in their young and impressionable minds, they find it is the correct and socially fitting thing to do.
This was brought to my attention tonight, when I was browing one of MY little sister's friend's Myspace. Maybe the photos I saw weren't exactly the most provocative one's out there, but they were still something a girl that age, or a female of any age with respect for themselves, shouldn't post all around for the world to see. It angers and disgusts me, because I know my little sister and the only reason she carries on the way these girls do, is the simple fact that they pressure each other into doing it. I mean, that's my littler sister, and it's upsetting to see what she's turning into. They all depend on each other for social status and approval and those aren't the kind of friends to have. Especially since they all talk about each other behind everyone's backs. It's ridiculous.
I don't understand why none of them have the audacity or self-respect to stand up and say something. I know that none of them want to feel like the "outcast" or the "whimp" of the bunch, but they all know what they're doing and they all know that it's not something they should be doing. Whether it's posting sick pictures on Myspace or carrying on with other things I've found out they do.
People find out about these things. People talk. People form their own opinions, whether all of them were involved, or just one. It really, truly is the company you keep at their age, that gives them their reputation. To see someone who means something to me get dragged into a situation like that is disturbing. And it's even more disturbing that she won't listen to me.

I think, they only do It for attention.

I think it is really disgusting how girls that are all of about 12 and 13 are getting myspaces, i know maybe some people here did, but half of me and my friends didnt get the internet at home till we were 13 and 14!! I was on one of my guy friends myspaces, His first friend was a girl, about 15 or 16, and her homepage picture was of her body and her pants are undone and you could see her bra and underwear. I found it disgusting. Then i looked at all his "top friends" they were all girls around my age that were hardly wearing nothing.
Why do women have to be made vulnerable in today's society to be accepted? I thought all that stuff went out when women's rights came in. You should tell your mum, alot of parents dont even know their kids have myspace, the biggest porn site for pervs, let alone posting them pictures of themselves.

Yes this kind of thing is disturbing given the potenital for actual harm to these young girls. They may be doing it for attention or from peer-pressure, but as a parent myself the thought of my child doing that would hurt so deeply. The last thing a parent wants is some pervert sexually attracted to their child, the thought is abhorrent. But it does highlight the need for parents to be more vigilant in what their children post on the web. Simply placing the computer in a more public place in the home can help in this regard.

people of all kinds of ages put provocating pics of themselves on the net
half naked
naked?
but i think if young girls do it it's even sicker.
They do it for attention, they want to seem old, they want to be wanted and they want people to be jealous. And there are tons of pervs there wanking over little girl's half naked pics. it's horrible.
Good block.

Exactly. I'm thinking of telling my mom in the morning.

Those pics make me sick. Ugh...my cousin's little 14 year old daughter had a pic of her in her underwear. So I told my cousin "Dude...wtf...did you know your daughter did that sh*t?"
...I would want to know if my child did that, so I figured he would too.

Yeah. I mean, these girls were, of course, wearing the skimpy clothes, but also bikinis. And they were posting pictures, obviously to get a rise out of boys, of them being all over each other. It's just gross. And my own sister hangs out with these girls.

..Yeah i agree..
Theres no need to be posting pics of your self,
letting the whole world know who you are,
where you are
and what youre wearing..
They want attention..
they like for people to look at them, and it creeps the f*ck out of me.
Who the hell wants a 45 yr old creep-o looking a your picture, getting all freaky and
stuff...its really sad..

I know what you mean. It's gross. I was looking at my friend from primary school's MySpace, and there were a lot of ....how do I put it....skantily clad dressed photos on there.
It's ick. Especially when there are a million letchy weirdos out on the net.

That sorta stuff is sick.
A Few of my mates on myspace do that.
But they just wear low cut tops and mini skirts, not as bad as half of the stuff i've seen.
