The Negative Effects of Slash
No, I don't mean the GNR, VR guitarist I mean the writing form/ genre.
In many cases people enjoy slash, correct? Well, I've talked to some of my friends who dislike it. I find the "Waycest" stories disgusting. "Ferards" are okay in some cases mostly not. These are common things to see.
I was talking to a friend of mine earlier and she said she was crying because of a story she'd been reading (checking spelling and things). I'm not going into detail of who what or why, but it bothers me.
Stories such as the formentioned "Waycest" and "Ferard" are annoying as hell but I tolerate them. However just in general, incestuous scenes bother me and people never think to mention those in the begining when they say "This is a ___ story". I'm mostly ranting about my dislike for the genre but honestly, why do people write like that? Why do they expect me to write like that?
I think I'll shut up now but should you read this please tell me your opinion of this genre, why you like or dislike it, whatever.

I don't read it all the time, but I go on binges once in a blue moon where that's what I do on the computer: read slash. Like someone said, if it's all sex, that's no good to me, but if there's sex in a long, well-written story with a plot then it's fine by me.
I personally don't see what's "wrong" with it. Obviously incest and stuff like that can be crossing the line for some, but if it's just reading or writing it I don't see what harm it does. Personally, incest stories kinda freak me out but if that's what some people like, then that's good for them.

Some people are into the stuff.
I read it when i come across one i might like. But i don't read it all to often.
and it's not as bad as some full on graphic p0rn stories etc.
If you don't like it, stay away from it, dont bother reading it.
It's like softcore erotica. Some people read erotica. geezus. it's their choice.
and dont bag me out over my comment either.

"I don't see a point to slash"
There is no more point to slash than there is to regular fan fiction. But they both share the same purpose, to entertain.

If you don't like it, don't READ IT. Simple AS.
I'll now give you my opinion.
I like well written slash. That has a PLOTLINE. If it doesn't, I won't read it. If it just has sex it's annoying. I want a freaking story, people!
I don't mind Waycest. Actually, I've read a few really good ones that I loved. But I only read slash from ONE author. One and one only.
I normally skip over the sex though...

I don't read slash. it's like Mibba is full of it. And Waycest is just wrong.
i just read & write comedies instead. :cassie:

I'm not homophobic or anything, but that was basically what I was saying that it's worrisome for people to write stuff like that. It seems pervish just to read.
Twist of Fate, July 22nd, 2007 at 04:16:39am
i don't really like that "genre" of writing...
it makes me feel like... disgusted kinda... i mean; not that i'm afraid of gay/bi/whatever-you-wanna-call-it people; but the writing about this stuff on stories DOES scare me... it's just like "wtf are you people thinking!? do you have a life or do you just write nasty slash stuff all the time!?"
-_-
