Never Give Up.

..in the words of Ben Kowalewicz of Billy Talent.
I'm not a very clear writer, because I have so many thoughts rushing together at once, so bare with me.
Today I had a conversation with my mother, on the car ride home from Costco. It all started out with schooling, and going to college but it really turned into alot more than that. To be honest, in a wierd way, she really inspires me to go for what I've only ever dream of. She had never gone to college as a teenager, and she deeply regrets it, and I'll be honest, she had a really shitty childhood. She explained to me how she never had anyone ever tell her to go for it, to dream big, to go to college etc. She didn't know any better. My mom grew up in a small town in Canada, and back then it wasn't really...huge..to go to college. It wasn't needed. Now a schooling degree is everything, you need one to get a decent job. I guess that's why my mom has such a poor paying job. Her whole life she's wanted to be a pilot, even as a kid...she never went for it. As she explained to me her dream of being a pilot...she started crying. She wanted it so bad, that it actually hurt...and right then and there I knew exactly what she ment. For me personally, I want to be a musician more than anything in the world. If I can't do that...I really have no reason to live. I want it so bad, I can feel it and see it, but it seems so far away. I know how much hard work it is, and I know how badly I want it, but I'm so lazy and I hate it. I'm trying to get off of my ass and get working on it. She straight out told me in between her light tears, to work hard at my dream, and never give up. Because later, if you don't go for it, you will regret it, for the rest of your life.
Picture what you want to have, and don't ever let go of it. Set your mind straight on what you want and stop at absolutly nothing. Not even the greatest heartbreak in the world. What ever it is that you want so dearly, go for it. Picture the world as yours for the taking. No matter what it is, don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it, that it'll never happen. Push every obstical out of your way, because if you do..hey, you'll have what you've always wanted. Some people might say "that's too hard..and I'm way too lazy.."
How bad do you really want it? If you want it bad enough...you'll work your ass off for it. My mom regrets not going to school, and not trying to get into some piloting program..that was over 20 years ago and she still cries about it. I don't want anyone on here to be like that, no one should have to live with that regret. You don't have to work for it forever, soon the work will be over, and you'll be happy. Another situation with a cousin of mine. He had a GREAT rock band, they won Battle Of The Bands, they were touring...they were on their way to their dreams. But then a little something called school came up, and they gave up on their dreams. It even broke my heart knowing that, they were amazing. My cousin was a bassist as well, and I now have his bass, as my first bass. I'm going to attempt to finish what he started.
For example, take a look at Green Day. Basically all of you know their story of how they became one of the biggest bands in the world. They worked their asses off, because they wanted it so bad. Now look at them...I can hardly imagine what that must be like. Playing in front of 10's of thousands of kids everynight on tour, being with your best friends, doing what you love to do, and you make a HUGE amount of money off of it. Now that, is the perfect life.
Hell, a dream of yours may not be a job that you want. It could be trying to make the world a better place, helping end world hunger, or something smaller maybe. Maybe just visiting a place you've always dreamt of, maybe traveling the world. Whatever it is; go for it.
For me, being inspired by an all girl band is kinda hard. I don't really know any out there, and it's very rare they make it big. For many aspiring girls on here, that want to be a musician, that can be a huge doubt right there..but why not? Girls can do anything guys can. If there are no big female bands out there...why can't I, or you be the first and inspire so many other young girls out there to go for it 'cause it's possible.
So for a few minutes, take a look at your life and think. Think a bit about the past and try to put it behind you, then take a look at the future. What do you want to do for the rest of your life? Now take a look at the present, you may have a shitty life right now, but whos to say you can't make that better? Stay strong through everything, and let your dreams fill you up, so that nothing can get in the way. Look at most musicians lives, they write about their past and things they've gone through. They've been through it too, and it's made them stronger. They still made it, and they had shitty lives too. You know what you need to do, and tell yourself:
Never Give Up, No Matter What.
Stay positive about your dreams, tell yourself you can do it. Millions of people have worked so hard so they can be where they are now, they started out as nothing more than what we are now, so why can't we do the same in the future? Is there some law saying certain people can't do certain things? Even if there is, don't even let that stand in the way. Unless of course it's to kill millions of people..thats no good. Why shouldn't we be allowed to go for our dreams?
Why not?
