Remember: the My Lai Massacre was the infamous 4-hours long kill that Lieutenant William Calley and the other American soldiers carried out during the Vietnam War. Thousands and thousands of innocent civilians--women,old people and children,babies were killed and women were raped.
I did this poll is because in Psychology,we've just started on the topic of Obedience. We got to talk about the My Lai massacre. We all got pretty choked up when we watched a documentary the teacher showed us...and most of my classmates were absolutely disgusted with the fact that William Calley only got 3 days in prison,while the other fellow American soldiers got away with the war crimes they've committed.
This is a poll to c wot u guys think...it's ur opinion afterall...
P.S: MY GREAT RESPECT GOES OUT TO ALL THOSE FEW AMERICAN SOLDIERS WHO WERE ABLE TO KEEP THEIR INTEGRITY & MORALITY IN ORDER TO RESIST THE AUTHORITY & IT'S WRONG ORDER TO KILL THE INNOCENT CIVILIANS!!!

I'm hardly an expert on the Vietnam war, but from what I do know it was a very selfish war on America's side; they wanted to prevent the spread of Communism , that Vietnam and the Vietnamese as a people actually wanted, to keep Capitalist control.
In a human rights view, obviously they shouldn't have done it nor got away with it, but humans do funny things when they're told to do it, and most prefer to go along with any orders than stand up and risk their own safety for the cause. That's why people who do go down in history I suppose.
