My Favourite Place
In my English class my teacher made us close our eyes and think about our favourite place. We had to pretend that we were there and contemplate what you’d see, hear, touch and taste. Anyways, with all of that fresh in our minds we had to write a short paragraph about it, cross out everything that wasn’t important, and turn it into a poem. Sounds easy right? Wrong. It’s extremely hard if you have “control issues.”

So what’s my favourite place? At first a couple locations came to mind, such as California. Even though I’ve only been there once and I barely remember it, it will always be one of my fondest memories. Some of you may think “You probably only loved it so much because that’s where Green Day is from,” but that’s not why. It was the greatest vacation ever. To this day I still have an old family photo of me, my mom, my dad, my brother and my sister in front of the boat we went on that sailed right underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Today, my parents are divorced and that road trip to California was probably the last time all of us were actually happy together as a family. I wish I never took that for granted. Sorry, got a little off track, but I’ll get right to the point.
I crossed Cali off the list I was making in my head & tried to circle another location. I thought to myself, “What’s a place I go to today, a place where I’m happy?” The answer was pretty simple; it was the dirty, light flickering garage my best friends and I have band practice in. It’s never been the much, however, it’s all we’ve got and it’s definitely better than nothing.
I would go on about this favourite place of mine, but I’d rather my poem do that for me. So here it is:

Band Practice.
Dull garage
Black drum set
Chipped wooden sticks
Band mates filled with laughter
Cool air, sound of static
Loud music
Old tools, cob webs, empty smelly bird cages
Second home.
Thank you for reading, although it’s time for me to ask you guys a question..

awesome blog :]
My favourite place is anywhere where I am on my own. In my room, in the town, etc. I know that sounds sad but it's true. I am happiest on my own , when I am in control of everything and I can do what I want, what I feel safe with, without someone telling do this/do that/do the other.

Nice blog.
I'll have to say Disneyland is my fav place x]]
I'm childish and all. But in Disneyland it's like. Nothing matters. No school, no homework, no worries about my future. And yeah, there's just a really good feeling all over.

It's really cool that you thought of the place where you hang with your friends and create good sounds. Excellent choice!
