Eat yourself beautiful

Beauty comes from the inside - that's what they always say. And actually, beauty indeed comes from the inside. By saying this I mean not only your character, I mean what you eat.

Eating the right and healthy things makes you look fresher and has a positive effect on your whole body - inside and outside. You feel better, your mood is better and your skin and hair look better too. Whatever we do to us and our body will be reflected in the way we look and in the way we feel. If you want to have a pretty body, you have to do sports so you kill fat and build up muscles, if you want to have pretty hair and skin you have to do something for healthy hair growth and healthy vivid skin cells. A healthy nutrition is the key.

Of course, you could use tons of expensive and chemical hair or skin products but it doesn't come from the inside. You can use all those products for help, but there are so many small things you can eat to make yourself happy and look beautiful.

The most important thing is balance. You need to find the right amount of what you eat. Stress makes us eat less and too much prepared and unhealthy food. You also shouldn't eat in front of the computer or tv station. The environment in which you eat and the arrangement on the plate all have an effect on your mood. Eating gives us a good mood, the more colours the more fun it is. Red, green, orange. Tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and more don’t just look nice they also have important vitamins.

For your skin

Millet and Strawberries. There is a lot you can do for your skin apart from using body lotion and things like that. Strawberries don’t just taste good they strengthen your connective tissue in your skin and hence work against cellulite. The same effect has millet which is high-silica and helps against orange-peel skin.

Carrots, apricots, tomatoes, algae. Carrots, apricots and tomatoes are important helpers to protect our skin from the sun. The first two help our skin regenerating after a sun bath and tomatoes kill “evil attackers”. Algae both helps preventing sunburn and at the same time makes your skin soft.

Avocado and fish are good for a pretty skin and protect your skin from growing old.

Basil, thyme and parsley help against blackheads and pimples because they are anti-inflammatory. Too much fatty and sugary food is bad for your skin.

For your hair

Zinc. Slack hair calls for zinc. Not enough zinc derogates your hair and nail growth. You find zinc for example in tuna or beef.

Protein. Our hair mainly is made of proteins. Hence if you don’t eat enough proteins your hair suffers. You find proteins for example in dairy products or leguminous plants like peas or beans.

Spinach, wholemeal, nuts and soja protect your hair against environmental influences such as sun, wind, coldness or salty water.

Soul Food
Food doesn’t just help regenerating your outside, it also activates your inside and makes you feel good.

Chocolate makes happy. It helps releasing happy hormones and makes you feel happy and gets you in a good mood. Yet be careful because too much sugar and fat is bad for your skin. Balance is the key.

Banana, brown rice and peas helps our body to fight against stress. They feed your nerves and makes your more able to work under pressure. Keep that in mind for exams.

Leaf salad, dairy products and eggs give you more power and make you awake. They give you vitality and groove. A glass of milk in the morning for example is a good start in the day.

The ultimate beauty product though is WATER. Our body consists of 70% water. If you don’t drink enough you get pale skin and hider your cell regeneration. Your hair should feel water inside and outside regularly to stay healthy and beautiful. Furthermore, if you don’t drink enough your head aches and you can’t concentrate. You get less resistant to illnesses and feel tired more often. As a result, 1.5 to 2 litre of water every day - it doesn’t matter if you drink it pure or as tea - is the ultimate beauty product.
