American Idiot: A political statement!

2004 was a year of conflicting veiws and political statements. Green Day were adding their on self-certified speech to a declining nation. Creating a product of retaliation, unearthing a fresh new source of backlash from a country swamped in scrutiny. As a band of authority, Green Day weren't lying down to big ego's or presentential stronghold. A feature so potent in American Idiots underskin. Green Day disapproved of their goverment, and a catalogue fuled in profound beleif and superioty would change a Country and a band forever.

Warning was the commence to Green Day's aspirations to get their points across. American Idiot would be the other half of a puzzle. An upgrade to hit a warpath running, a relentless bite of approvel. Relocating their musical styles, changing a look, broading their musical radar. Green Day were back to flush out the stale mould on America's foundations. Setting aside prior antics. A Berkley trio became serious and more involved in the World's cycle, and gosh did the public realise that.

American Idiot is a mark upon music. A crafted piece of musical genuis, a platform ozzing character and uptempo vibe. But the record also harbours a real emotional centre that has never been mastered in prior Green Day products. A fusion of drug relation and love loss, American Idiot was a saga of broken homes and dysfunctional lookout. Green Day would enlist the help of radical rebel St Jimmy to tell the jist of a story littered in pain and neglect. American Idiot was more than just a musical selling point, it was a fast-paced analysis of modern America.

The album's highly charged start is a true fuckoff to the towering generals of a nation in dispute. A ferocious account of conflict from a band on an assertive trail. A truly volatile beginning to an album on the frontlines of justice. A second chapter is brought to the floor as Jesus Of Suburbia rears its electric aura. The most detailed account of St Jimmy's rollercoaster life, a portrayal of disfunction of a home, and malfunction of a promising rise. A head bashing 9 minute plus delight, and Green Day perfected it with fluent results.

Holiday is advanced lyrically. Its a monumental leap in the political wave. A song brewing in contraversy, but its one of Green Day's greatest musical contributions. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams strayes away from Green Day norm, a sombre more mellow song that traps you in with no sense of release. Green Day finally moved a away from bratty one liners and teenage mellow dramatics. Truly reaching a new scale in terms of music development and maturity. Branching out of punk/Rock, but not failing to stay worthy to their routes.

Are We The Waiting is colossal start to St Jimmy's self-made intro. The drum infused track contains a rip of magic beyond a magicians capabilities, as well as tingling the musical taste buds. St Jimmys introduction is brimming with Adult humour and strong descriptions of being in denial. St Jimmy is the main Character in a tale of tragedy and suicidal urges. Give Me Novacaine is one of Green Day's lyrical gems. It seems a life of constant tragedy and broken luck has left St Jimmy in pain, Green Day really paint a picture of America's suburbs and drug system. Extraordinary Girl holds an overly-satisfying chorus that beds in to the cognition without entering a cliche ridden race.

Without losing momentum after the capitavation of Extraordinary Girl. The Berkley trio produce an electrifying jewel. Letterbomb boosts American's Idiots progress of becoming a true musical phenomenon. Harshy overlooked Letterbomb is lyrically immaculate, with riffs to please a Green Day crowd. Wake Me Up September Ends nullifies the uptempo blasts. A real chapter opener in a truly remarkable story. Its a song that is bright eyed and wisdom fuled. A lead singer added his own account of losing a protecter. A reflection of losing the grasp of a person that held you so strongly, protecting you from life's dangerous cycle.

Homecoming is another 9 minute plus train ride. A drummer let out his inner child to overtake him, adding a solo that would be welcomed at kids birthday party's. A realisation of the diverse talents of the Californian prized assets. Whatsername tells its own story of finding a Girl of your dreams but misplacing the attribute of rememberance. A song that fits perfectly as the final chapter in a story breathing reality.

Green Day opened a new cause when they stuck together a concept album. Bracing the backlash, unlocking the door of self-realisation, and proving that they could get their point across. Without falling flat on their faces, without their music being too overblown or theatrical, Green Day bacame a force to be reckoned with. Now what happens next?
