Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace

WARNING:BAD SPELLER, DO NOT COMMENT ON POOR SPELLING!

The new release from The Offspring (first album from them in nearly 5 years) has come out today. I must say, I already love it, not that I expected somthing different. It sounds pretty much like the heavier sound of Splinter (their 2003 release), Conspiracy Of One (their 2000 release) and Americana (their 1998 release) mixed togeather. I cannot stress the fact that I love this album enough.

Track 1: Half-Truism

This is a grand start-off if you ask me. It has a REALLY catchey chours. Totally The Offspring style
Blarg! Raiting: 4 out of 5

Track 2: Trust In You

Another song that is totally style. Its got the same kinda backround vocals as "The Kids Aren't Alright" and the same musical intermission as "Have You Ever".
Blarg! Raiying: 4 out of 5

Track 3: You're Gonna Go Far, Kid

My persional favorite. This was one of the singles released before the album came out. The entire song has the same ammount to catcheyness as the chours of "Half-Truism". I think its about an up and comming assisan.
Blarg! Raiting: 5 out of 5

Track 4: Hammerhead

I think this may be one of the ones I'm not so crazy about. It starts off slow but then pumps up soon into the song. This song really isn't their best work. This was also a single that came out before the album, and also has simular backround vocals as "The Kids Aren't Alright".
Blarg! Raiting: 2 out of 5

Track 5: A Lot Like Me

This one is a little deeper and slower then most. It mixes in a piano part with the verses. Yet once again, I'm just not too crazy about it.
Blarg! Raiting: 2 out of 5

Track 6: Takes Me Nowhere

This song like Half-Truism, has a very catchey chours, but that rest of the song is lacking that same greatness.
Blarg! Raiting: 3 out of 5

Track 7: Kristy, Are You Doing Okay?

Oh baby, I love this one. Its like one of those looking back and uplifting songs. Its also an acoustic. I think its the second most catchey song on the album.
Blarg! Raiting: 5 out of 5

Track 8: Nothingtown

Another super cathey song that I'm absolutly in love with. Another super catchey song, but this one is complaining about a crappy town. Its like a more up-beat kinda sarcastic version of "The Kids Aren't Alright". It also has that same kinda instrumental intermission as "Trust In You".
Blarg! Raiting: 5 out of 5

Track 9: Stuff Is Messed Up

This is the only political-like song on the entire album. I guess by the time they get 8 albums out, you'd be prepaired for at least one political based song. Its not so sarcastic, but it is a complaining type song about the world today.
Blarg! Raiting: 4 out of 5

Track 10: Fix You

This is the slowest, quietest and deepest song on the entire album. Its sort of about wishing yourself and the world could be better, and everyone would be happy. It sort of gives me the same feeling I get whenever I hear "Gone Away"
Blarg! Raiting: 4 out of 5

Track 11: Let's Hear It For Rock Bottom

Yet another really catchey one. It almost feels like ska to me, but not quite. I don't really know how to describe it. This is another song thats totally their style. Simply The Offspring.
Blarg! Raiting: 4 out of 5

Track 12: Rise And Fall

This doesn't really seem like a song to end an albums with, but I'm not the one calling the shots, so I guess it doesn't matter. Very fast, and another one of those typical songs from The Offspring.
Blarg! Raiting: 4 out of 5

So overall, Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace gets a Blarg! Raiting of 4.5 out of 5. If you're into the usuall catchey and great sound from The Offspring, along with a few changes that come along with any new music, then I would defintly suggest this album for you.
