This alone doesn't make you unique.
Okay, this was in my profile, and a lot of people liked it, so I'm moving it here for more profile room. I've added a few things to it.
I'm sorry if any of this offends you. I AM NOT DEGRADING ANY OF THE BANDS I MENTION, NOR AM I PUTTING DOWN HOMOSEXUALS.
Just read with an open mind.
This doesn't make you unique.
-Listen to My Chemical Romance
-You claim that My Chemical Romance saved your life. Well guess what? No, they didn't. You did. I don't care what you tell me, I won't believe that they saved your life. -When online, you type "random"
-You dye your hair stupid colors.
-you pretend to be crazy.
-when online, you type "hyper"
-You listen to Panic! At The Disco
-You listen to Fallout Boy
-You listen to Aiden
-You shop at Hot Topic
- You bury yourself in a scene, and claim that you've suddenly become bi or gay. There are so many people I know who are pretending to be gay/bisexual to fit in with their scene. What's the point in that? If you're even going to join "a scene" wouldn't you want to join one that accepts you for who you really are?
-You listen to Green Day and claim that everyone at your junior high school hates you for it.
I'm sorry, but listening to a band or dressing a certain way does not make you any different from anyone else. Listening to a band or dressing a certain way is a great way to express yourself. The clothes you wear can reflect how you feel, just as the music you listen to does the same.
But...
I see so many people claiming to be different from everyone else because they listen to Fall Out Boy, or because they bought pink hair dye from Hot Topic.
You may dress a certain way or look a certain way because you want to stand out, but does being white or black make you any different of a person?
Does listening to a band make you truly unique or better than someone?
WE'RE ALL DIFFERENT, and because we're all different, that's what makes us all the same. People are meant to be opposite of each other in some way.
So what's the point of trying to prove your difference? We're all unique in our own way.
Every kid in every scene looks the same to me. They're aiming to be clones of each other. They call it original. I call it a wall. A wall that separates everyone. Take emo kids for example. They're claiming to be so misunderstood and different from everyone else. But I don't see what's so different about looking like everyone else.

i deff. agree with a lot of the things you have said. me and "ADAM LAZZARA" go to the same school. we know what it's like to have a bunch of ppl running around that think they're cool just because they got a new hair color over the weekend. or think it's cool to do drugs and hangout with kids that really have no idea what the hell they're doing. just like all the talk about going green and stuff. some ppl are actually into that. like my friend amanda. but ive seen so many ppl wearing shirts that say "green is the new black" or "green is peace" or sh*t like that..and they only do it to fit in the "clique" i do feel that ppl should do what they feel is best and should be comfortable doing it..but please..mean it when you're doing it. dont do it just to look cool...because really...99% of the other ppl around you dont even care.

no one is really different from the next person.... we are all really the same... just wanting to fit in and willing to change who we are to do it.

If everyone is different, than how are the people of whom you speak all the same? It's a bit contradictory.
And I don't think people preaching about how they're different is any worse than putting them down for thinking that. They ARE different, apparently, different from people like you. I have never met an 'emo kid' who denied being similar to others, and I have NEVER even met an emo kid who wasn't different in some way from what you'd expect. Respect ALL peoples individuality, not just those who fit your idea of it. Then youre in good shape. -.-

oh & I never said/say I'm unique. I'm not though I'm told I am. loads of people have black, red & purple hair and dress in band tshirts and skinnies

You listen to Green Day and claim that everyone at your junior high school hates you for it.
well being British idk what Junior High is, but when I was in secondary school people really DID hate me for being a Green Day fan. I had "Green Day!!!" "ooooh Green Day!!" "more like Green Gay" shouted at my in my classes. It can happen..
and the clothes I wear are influenced/similar to what Green Day and Alkaline trio wear, thats why I wear them; because I like their style and they were probably influenced by their punk roots if i'm allowed to say that [OMG der not punk fuk off] >.> and I wear their band tshirts because I'm proud of the music I listen to and want to show people thats who I fully supprt and love. I've been colouring my hair since about year 8/ year 9, it's just what i've always done. I can't remember how I got into it because its so long ago now.

Nobody is totally unique, there's always somebody like you.
People submerge themselves in a scene because maybe they've failed at being accepted elsewhere and then and they found a group where they actually are.
People like being surrounded by like minds, which they often see with like ways of dressing. Oh well. Its what they're into.
The best thing anybody can do is be what you want and not dictated by whats cool. If YOU as an INDIVIDUAL just like trendy culture then go for it, but if you don't and go along with it anyway then something is wrong.
I think you're mostly bugged by the people who just try way too hard. Which I agree with in full because its hella obnoxious, no matter hat you're trying to be.

f*ck YEAH!!
i love you Rage.
AMBOOBneedshelp, June 25th, 2008 at 10:46:39pm
oh and to add to what I just said. "This Alone Doesn't Make You Unique" well to tell you the truth, nothing alone makes you unique, things add up and make you unique, nobody has the exact same personality and everybody acts different and thinks differently. You can't just bunch things together like that because if that's part of a person's personality, then you're saying they're not unique, even though they have other qualities too.
Rage, June 25th, 2008 at 10:36:43pm
lul,
i was one of the people that said they liked this.
and it's very ture.
but with the whole, 'f*ck____' MissNueurotic,

I listen to My Chemical Romance
I dye my hair weird colors
I don't claim to be crazy, I am
I'm a very hyper person
I listen to Panic At The Disco
I hate Fall Out Boy
I listen to Aiden
and I shop at Hot Topic.
You're saying I'm not unique? I am who I want to be. You can't tell me different. You can't tell people if they are or aren't unique. You're not them. You don't know what their life is like. So shut up and grow up. So what if people do all that stuff, it's their choice not yours. How do you know that everybody doesn't hate them if they listen to a certain band? You don't. Have you ever heard of people pretending to be your friends and then backstabbing you? Jesus. You can't judge people on what they listen to, how they shop, how they type or how they look. They way you dress and do your hair is some people's way of expressing themselves. So seriously, shut up. People are who they are and you can't tell them otherwise.
Rage, June 25th, 2008 at 05:29:02pm
true.
or people who are like
zomgzz down with the popularssss,
stuff like that..it's stupid..like their purposely trying to be different..just wear what you feel comfortable in and like wearing and act how you feel.as for music..if you like it listen to it regardless of genre...too many boundaries with people today trying to act different it really annoys me :/
you then end up with a big group of 11 year old wannabe emos ...there's plenty in my school -_-
lol;, June 25th, 2008 at 01:57:49pm
I like this.
Bubble Wrap., June 25th, 2008 at 08:14:12am
I totally agree with you. I'm sick of people who listen to MCR and say everyone hates them because they like MCR, and they're only about 11 years old. Also, they claim that because they go 'llama' they're ToTaLlY rAnDoM!
I believe that I am different. But only in small ways.
