Animal Abuse
Ok, I know the immediate reaction.
"I would never do that to an animal!"
We've all seen, or at least heard about, the shows on Animal Planet. Animal Cops Houston, Detroit, etc. We've seen those images of starved dogs or cats. Or that horse who broke his leg who the owner just miracuously "didn't notice." I'm going to be pretty straight-forward with this. Animal abuse is wrong. Period. I mean, really. Who the hell comes home so mad or so aggravated that they just wanna hit the first animal they see? And what do you get out of it? An animal that is scared shitless of you. Oh, congratulations, you hit an animal. Do you feel better? Most likely not. You're probably either still really pissed off or you feel like shit for hitting the animal.
Then, they're those who let their pets starve/dehydrate. Would kill you to put a bowl of kibble or water down? All I have to say to those people is this:
IF YOU DON'T WANT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF TAKING CARE OF AN ANIMAL, DON'T GET A PET. IT'S NOT THE ANIMAL'S FAULT FOR BEING HUNGRY/THIRSTY. IT COMES NATURALLY.
And for God's sake, those idiots whos pets get injured and they don't notice. Here's an idea: watch your animal. If it is walking around with a limp, don't blow it off like "Oh, he probably just hurt it running/jumping. Nothing big." At least get it checked out. And I'm not talking like, if it's something that none of us could pick up on. I'm talking obvious, blatent injuries.
I don't think this counts as animal abuse, but the only acceptible time I would ever hit an animal is if it were attacking me, or somebody around me. This would only be in a self-defence manner, if it came down to hitting.
The point is people, if you can't afford the needs, don't want one, or aren't mentally stable enough to have a pet,
Don't get one.

I agree.
Animals are just innocent creatures who do nothing against humans, yet people hit them and starve them. I hate it. Great blog.

I work at an animal shelter, and one of the main reasons we get animals is because people cannot afford the medical procedures they need. Pets are just as expensive as children, my cat just had about $300 in vet bills because of a UTI, and thats not even counting the medicine he had to take. If you don't have the finances available to care for that, just don't get a pet!
Great blog :D

did you know you're not supposed to give animals away for free anymore? due to people using them for dog fights or for bait for them.

Awesome! Man, I completely agree! I love watching those shows, although I never would ever ever ever hit an animal. It's so wrong! I can't wait until I'm older and have my own money, so I can donate to the ASPCA. They're the ones that help the animals in need, so that's what I plan to do, help the animals who need help the most.

Exactly. I love animals. Im a vegitarian for animal abuse reasons. they treat the cows, pigs, and chickens like sh*t. I've seen how they hang the cows by the hoves, i've seen a chicken get its head cut off, i've seen chickens put head first into some kind of liquid and spun in circles. its terrible. i dont understand how someone could hurt an animal and not care. when i was about four (this honestly was an accendent i wouldnt do it on purpous) i droped a dog over a ledge at my aunts appartment. it fell one story. i ran so quick to check on it, the look in its eyes, the pain that it felt. That was when it struck me, these creatures arent just lovable pets, they are whos not whats. they have feeling just like us.

Animal abuse D:
Good blog. I agree. I actually can't even see myself hitting an animal that hard if they attacked me. Well, not a dog or cat. I'd most likely put my foot out to try and stop it. Even if it was attacking, I'd feel bad for hitting it. D:
