How To: Look Scene.
Okay first of all, I don't want any rude comments about scene kids. This is just a blog on how they dress and do their hair. Kapeesh? Kapeesh.
Girls
Hair
What you need.
A Pick
Straightening Iron
Extensions (optional)
Tons of Hairspray
Bow (optional)
Hairclip
Okay. First you will need to straighten your hair to the point of total flatness. But when you do straighten it curl the iron under so it poofs your hair just a bit and hides the split ends.
Second you will need to part your hair, normally to the side. Grab a small section of hair and with the pick, tease the bottom layer of that section and spray it. Continue throughout your hair and spray it the last time. If it looks messy and unkept, make sure it's still wet with hairspray and use your hands to smooth it out.
To put clip in extensions in, divide your hair so the bottom layer only is showing and you have the top of it clipped up tight. Put the extensions on the bottom of the clipped up layer and fasten. Make sure they feel tight so they don't fall out. Then let the top layer down.
To finish it off, take a bow and place it anywhere on the side of your hair. I suggest the side your bangs are on or the side that has the most hair from the part.
Now you have scene hair.
Clothes and style.
Okay mostly for shirts you want a either something really tight that goes down to your but of a really flowy shirt. Animal print is a big yes in the scene world. And anything with Hello Kitty on it is a huge plus. You want to look girly but not too girly.
For pants, any color of skinny jeans are good or really short shorts are good also. You can also wear a skirt with colorful leggings under them. The whole idea is to be colorful.
After you've found your outfit. Fasten a studded belt or one with a bunch of random pictures on it to the outside of your shirt. It defeats the whole purpose of the belt. Put the buckle of the belt towards the back of you. For jewelry Brass Knuckle and Hello Kitty and Crowns are the way to go for necklaces. For shoes, any kind of flat or high heel is good. Just something you can walk in.
Be sure to put a lot of heavy eyeliner on and dark colored eyeshadow.
Guys
Hair
For hair, just get an 'emo' haircut and spike it up in the back with lots of bright colors.
Clothes and style.
For shirts you either want a brightly colored band t-shirt or something that has to do with music. Retro things are big too. Make sure the shirts are really tight, like 2 sizes too small. Or for pictures, you can choose to not wear a shirt. That's what most guys do.
For pants you want Skinny jeans, again 2 sizes too small. You don't want to be able to pull them up around your waist. No. Around your hips and barely buttoned is the way to go! Make sure your boxers show a lot.
Put a studded belt backwards though the loops of you pants. For shoes, black skater shoes, boat flats or brightly colored Patton leather Nike's are the way to go.
Put some eyeliner on, it doesn't have to be thick, it just has to be there.
TADAH! Now you're a scene kid. Go take pictures of yourself now! Myspace is the way to go.

And, being scene isn't about looks.
It's the attitude that counts most.
POONTANG, July 13th, 2008 at 02:54:07am
