Second Semester

Alas, my lovely, long winter break is finally coming to a close. Tomorrow I start my second semester of college, and I'm trying not to feel overwhelmed. College has been a love/hate relationship for me so far, so this semester I'm going to try to get in a little more lovin' and a little less hatin'. \o/ [/cheesiness]

I really enjoy it more than high school in the sense that it's just so much more exciting. There's more going on on campus, there's the freedom of creating your own schedule how you like it (Starting your day at 11:30, or ending at noon=epic WIN) and since it's post-secondary education, I really feel like the students appreciate the classes, and you get more out of them. Everyone who's in the class is there because they WANT to be(Unlike highschool, where there's always that group of stoners/lowlifes at the back of every class). Yeee nerd right here.

But my god, academically, the first semester nearly killed me. I think it's safe to say that I pretty much coasted through my entire highschool experience, albeit a few spotty moments in math. I did a little homework each night, sometimes none. I still stayed in the honours classes and got decent marks. Then college hit me like a derailed train. Hours of work each night, constantly falling behind, the dreaded calculus. Happily, calculus didn't kill me, I passed the little bastard, though he didnt go without a fight.

This time, I know whats coming. I'm going to try (operative word) to be organized and not procrastinate (hahahaha) and just generally keep on top of things. Among my other classes, I'm taking chemistry, physics-mechanics and cal 2, the latter two supposedly being among the hardest classes at the college (gulp).
Right so academic goals for second semester (aka things to remember when I want to drop out and join the circus):
-Pass Cal 2
-Pass Physics (try for 70s minimum)
-Try to get a minimum of 80 in chemistry
-Try for high 80s and 90s in everything else (english, french, sociology, rockclimbing[for PE])

Ahh. What lofty ambitions.
Now, time to take advantage of my last homework-free night by squandering it on facebook and digging out that bus schedule I havent needed to use in 4 weeks.
