Why I Love Disney

Disney Films have been giving life to people's childhoods since the 1930s. Mine, for one, was shaped by them. I'm a sucker for animation, and nobody makes animated films like Disney. There are five reasons why I love Disney so.
1) The aesthetic. The beautiful, soft, fluid animation of disney films makes me happy. They look so good, dammit!. Consider how beautiful Disney Prince[sses] are. How realistically the animators draw architecture and scenery. Alice In Wonderland is probably my favourite Disney film in terms of the way it looks- the bright colours, bizarre characters and vibrancy it has is so pretty.
2) The characters. Besides the iconic 'princesses', characters such as the Beast and Quasimodo are far from the typical hero of a film. And not just the heroes, but the villains. Some of my personal favourites are Frollo, Hades (who really reminds me of Marilyn Manson) and Maleficent. Whereas Disney really do have some very nasty villains, there are the slightly comedic ones like the aforementioned Hades and Gaston who are almost likeable. Disney characters are far from one dimensional.
3) The themes. Love has to be the most common theme of all Disney films. Especially from the early nineties, films like The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Beauty and The Beast and Hercules all have the theme of outsiders and social rejects finding love and happiness. Which is kinda cool, in my opinion. Death and loss are also tackled, in Bambi and the Lion King. The Hunchback Of Notre Dame also has the theme of religion thrown in. A lot of people are under the impression that Disney films are all about a beautiful princess who winds up with a handsome prince, but they really aren't.
4) The music. Gosh, everyone loves Disney music, don't they?. The people that say they don't are lying to themselves. Most of it is cheesy, yes, but good in its own way. Hakuna Matata, anyone? Everybody loves Hakuna Matata. In my personal opinion, the funky gospel choir from Hercules and the timeless Beauty and the Beast soundtracks are the best, with the Lion King coming a close second. And Aladdin. I can't forget Aladdin. Basically, its all great, so you should go buy a compilation CD full of the stuff.
5) The Influence. Disney has had such a gigantic influence on so many people's childhoods, pop culture as a whole, and even society. I don't think I need to say much more on this- simply, Disney is so huge and iconic that it needs no introduction. Nothing gets the status Disney gets without being damn good.
Have a nice day!

Agreed.Disney movies are the best animation movies ever made.My favorite is The Aristocats.Beside the aesthetic, which is incredible, they have this 'classic' feeling you get caught into.Lion King 2 made me cry everytime I've seen it although I never cry at movies.when i was little i so wanted someone to make a spell and send me 'inside' the disney stories and movies.I have to admit that I still want the same thing everytime I watch disney classics.

I love the disney imagination, Their also one of the best people to work for they really look after their staff. I mean ofcourse they are a business so people will have their quarrels with that. I don't understand why because its a heavy influence on children that that makes it more evil. Every band has a corporation behind it, major record labels are sh*tty little bastards too. you just got to take the good with the bad. but in disneys case their doing a good job...apart from the sequals XD. (lion king and alladin not included)

I glad somebody put this up after Lady Lazerus' attack on Disney.
Disney movies change your life, as someone said once. I love the old ones, my favourites are The Hunchback Of Notradame and Hercules. Two wonderful movies. The Hunchback Of Notradame was actually my main sorce of insperation for all the plays I used to act out with my dollies when I was little :) (yes, I played with dollies. Someone had to be the actors!). I would say that was where my love of making up stories came for and using my imagination to the max. Hercules I love because it was a very funny movie. All those little jokes were priceless, like the Hercules merchandise gag and Hades. I can track back my wacky sense of humour back to there. Why don't they make a beautiful movie like these instead of doing crappy sequels for Cinderella and Mulan (another one of my favourites, I might add. I wanted to be Chinease for a year after watching it)? All these new pixar films are boring and lack any soul.

Yeah. The movies are full of joy, but the 16 year olds in the sweat shops in Guangdong Province, China sure aren't. Haven't you noticed that recently Disney has been lacking originality in its movies? The only original thing in Disney today is that little piece of Pixar. And now, And Buena Vista Music Group? Not much good with Hilary Duff around. If only they signed someone like Queen on instead of a bunch of artists who work for Disney subsidiaries. And they're certainly insane about their intellectual property. They sued a bunch of daycares for having Disney characters on their walls!

Sounds cool? What the hell? No, I'm saying it because I took a class on major corporations around the world and I researched Disney a lot. Thus, I know what I'm talking about, and I'm not just saying it to "sound cool". And I fail to see how this would seem "insulting" to you. I'm simply stating something that I feel strongly about and if I offended you or your little buddies, then my apologies. Please forgive me.

Hopefully they'll unfreeze Walt Disney, and make some more oldschool cartoons, like the older ones

I owe my childhood to Disney. I love all of their stuff.
Ha, my English teacher is convinced they're anti-feminist. I suppose they can be misconstrued that way, but they're still classic.
