Wow...you really showed your strength of character there...so many people, going through the stuff you did would have just given up. In fact i don't think many people could cope with just one of those things, let alone all of them. So if you can go through all that shit and things got better, than anyone else can too.

Yes. Giving up is underestimated.

Exactly.
Besides, anyone who says suicide is for cowards should go try to hang themselves. It requires a lot of will power.
Sometimes people kill themselves when they don't want to, and that's something not a lot of us have the strength to do.

*Sigh* Look, im too tired to argue pointlessly with you anymore. But, tell me this, if it requires so much willpower to hang yourself, then why not put this huge amount of willpower into getting of your backside and getting help?. I've seen too many people die before they were ready to die, too many people who would literally kill for a second chance to live, and yet how can you throw your life away. Maybe i'm letting my heart rule my head here, but life is a gift and it shouldn't be taken lightly.
And you say "Sometimes people kill themselves when they don't want to". Well, why would they be killing thmselves if they didn't want to die. It makes no sense. Now can you honestly explain that to me, because i've read it over, and i still don't understand it.

Yes. Why is giving up such bad thing anyway? If you don't want to live, then don't. You can't hear the complaining when you're dead, and why would you care about them then when you didn't care about them when you were alive.

This is a good conversation, which this section is all about. It's always nice to debate.

I see it very simple. Someone does not want to live. Does not want to feel, speak, eat...so he decides not to and kills himself. Now. Where's the problem? The person doesn't exist, that's what he wanted, he got his problems solved and all. People's minds can not be compared with each other, so it's pointless to say 'someone would kill to live your life' for example.

You can't always do things just because you are able to do them. You can't live just because you do. It's not an absolute value we should go through just because we can. That's why I think it's great that we can choose ourselves if we wanted to live until the very last day before the 'destiny' comes in.

I think we should all have the right to decide when and how we die. Obviously in most cases it's something we can't help. But suicide is something I agree with. If living is just causing you misery, then why live? You can move on to a new life, maybe find happiness.

Some people concider themselves, and actually are a burden...Because of a serious illness, for example. They have to be taken care of and no one wants them there anymore. Trust me, it does happen. Some people are terminally ill and all they have left is a slow painful way to die, but they can't choose euthanasia 'cuz it's illegal.

And as for your comment on taking that willpower and changing something...as I've pointed out a couple of pages ago - sometimes things can't change, because some things are infixable, and there's really nothing one can do.
If you concider this discussion pointless, then don't take part in it. You know, to you this might mean nothing, but to some suicide is the ony way out, because, believe me, life can get that bad. If you make a decision that I concider stupid, I won't tell you you're dumb, because this is your decision and you have a right to make it. Every person has a right to do whatever they want with their life, including ending it.
You are right that life is a great gift - but so is death. Neither of them should be taken lightly. If it's my non-take-awayable right to live, and everyone realizes that death is a part of life, why can't I have a socially accepted right to die?

Well, if your really going to be awkward and not accept that some people do commit suicide for pretty trivial reasons, and they dothrow their lives away then fine. And i don't consider this dicsussion pointless, i find the fact that we're both arguing over it without compromise pointless. So i'm going to say, that you do have a point, some people want to die and there isn't anyting i can do about it, but i still think they're giving up, and nothing will change that.
I respect your opinion, and i can understand why you're saying what you say, but i don't agree with most of it.
And finally. You say 'Death is a Gift'. Well, im sure thats not what the parents of the five year old girl who got knocked down near my house today would tell you.

death is a gift to those who want it, just like any other gift. if you were given something for christmas, whether you like it or not, its still a gift. as with life, if you got a crappy plastic McDonalds toy for christmas and you didnt like it or want it you would most likely throw it away right? and so when some people get given their lives [as a gift or whatever] and they dont like it or want then they throw it away. although death is a gift you cant throw away. and obviously the 5 year old girl and her parents didnt like the gift that they were given huh?

I accept and respect your opinion, it's the most common one and maybe it has the best reasoning. But I'd like to ask, what's wrong with giving up? Of course they are giving up, they know they're giving up, that's exactly what they want to do, throw their lives away.

I think it's better to give up than keep the scene going and suffer.

I can see what your saying. Maybe the reason i'm so against the whole idea of 'giving up' is that simply from a very early age i have been taught to never say die...(so to speak). I was always told to never stop fighting, yet I can understand many people wouldn't have my willpower or determination. So maybe its just the fact that i see giving up as faliure, that i'd rather stay and fight than to die on my knees. But, yes, i do understand. And ultimately, if a person wants to throw their life away, and fully understands the concequences then fine. They can give up and go quietly, and i can die kicking and screaming like the stubborn old bitch I am, and we'll both be happy...agreed?
