I'm irish and I'm going through depression, but mostly because of genetics, and not whats going on in my life, because I have to admit, I have a better life than most. Both parents, my dad comes home at 2 so I see a lot of him, the only thing wrong is my mothers back is fractured, so I didn't really do anything with her in my childhood and now, so blah. <3
I've never cut, it hurts way to much [Not saying I tried, but needles hurt, so I'm not gonna]. I thought about sucide when I went to a new school, but I though I was just being dramatic, so I never actually tried it.. I've never hurt myself on purpose, so I'm good. <3 |

And btw, what's the pleasure with cuting yourself? I dont get it. Anyone who wants to tell me?
Its not for pleasure, a lot of people seem to think it doesn't hurt but it fucking does. I think it’s a bit like lashing at, but instead of lashing out at someone else you do it to yourself. It’s like it's less trouble that way, if you get into a big screaming match with someone you have to deal with the consequences like them being angry or annoyed with you but harming yourself; you're the only one who knows about it so everyone thinks you're doing ok. |

I've actually tried suicide once before, a few months ago, I took about 10 (or more) advil. Nothing happend to me, I just fell asleep for about 12 hours. My paretns didn't suspect anything because it was Christmas break, they assumed I stayed up really late watching TV. They still don't know., and I don't plan on telling them. |

same with me...only i came close to killing myself on night....scariest night of my life....but im happy i didnt...im actually stating to enjoy life now which is a good thing
Same here. I was damn close, but then the phone rang, it was my best friend, she saved my life, and she doesn't even know it. I've been depressed since I was eight, I am now fourteen, I don't think I'm going to get over it anytime soon, the depression that is, but I have stopped the whole "suicidal thoughts". I always just look on the bright side of life, or try to anyway. I have been affected by suicide, my Grandfather commited suicide, and then I just realized that it was so pointless, he was young (only 59), and he had a successful career, and he threw it all away. |

people are getting more depressed because every one is becoming so materialistic and indulging in matirialism makes people forget about emotional needs. causing famillies to fall apart. and also these days divorce is alot more common and not so frowned upon so more and more famillies are seperated which can cause depression for the parents and the children. and drugs use is going up so more people have withdrawal (which is pretty fucking nasty and could even make the happyest person alive fucking depressed) and drug abusers children go through shit. we are letting every thing slip. |

no your right. Also prozac is not only used to treat depression it is also used for OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).
Some people go to there Dr and say Dr i feal so depressed but instead of talking to you about it and if need be send you to a counsellor they will automatically give you drugs like prozac and i think many people just get stuck on these drugs and are not given any help to come of them, because you cant come of prozac over night it is a gradule thing, if you do it to quickly you run the risk of going back on them. |

his druggy friends. its horrible to watch a parent do drugs isnt it. i have watched it to many times. no child should EVER have to experience thier parent injecting them sleves with heroin, or deal it deviding it up on a mirror with a razor blade and then wrapping it up in little cigarette paper packages, or be taken to a wanted drug dealers house at 3 am, no one should ever have to see that...that causes depression. |

i have tried it but i dont think it really helps. but i dont know, its some times good to just be in a state of mind where every thing is fine..ok its not real and its all in your head and every thing out side your head is utter shit, but it really does help when your at your lowest points, but not if you get addicted...thats just dumb! |

yeah your right, did you know that 95% of teenagers who attempt suicide change thier minds and dont want to die, but that 95% do succeed! if any of you have tried suicide and then changed your minds, you will know that it is so terrifying to feel the effects take thier toll, and then having to make yourself sick, thats how thoose kids die, in fear and regret. |

Is it wrong of me to feel little sympathy for those Kids?
Because quite frankly, I don't. People who try to commit suicide are doing it for a good reason; they should have thought long and hard about it. It certainly isn't a spur of the moment thing. Really, I would imagine the descision is quite a tough one to make and requires huge commitment. If they end up regretting it at the last minute, then they should have thought about that first. In fact, I don't think I feel much sympathy for anyone who commits suicide. I think if they are feeling so bad to an extent that they don't want to live, once they're dead I don't pity them. Surely, that is what they wanted, and now they are happy? Surely, bad as it sounds, they're better off dead?. At least then they can be free.
Or do I sound quite callous? |
