Many people do it just to get attention and thats sad and sick.

Many people do it because they are genuinely depressed, upset, grieving...you can't just generalize.

oh go away, if people are ill enough to want to cut themselfs they dont need fuckwits like you telling them that they should be locked up that would just make matters worse, because the chances are they would kill themselfs ina small room with nothing to do all day, perhaps the peopel who are cutting because they are ill and not doing it purley because it is fashionable need friends and need a good person to talk to, obviously if they were talking to you, you would have them locked up.

I cut myself, not alot, I've done it about 4 times and it's been only small, shallow cuts.
I scrach myself alot too.
I have thought about killing myself but I have never tried to.
see, I have emotional problems, I get depressed/upset/angery wicked easy.
And there is alot of shit going on in my life right now.
Just to tell you, this is not a 12 year old girl saying
that she cuts herself becuse she want's attention or becuse she think's it's cool.
this is a 16 year old girl who needs
someone to tell this to but is too afraid to talk people she "knows"
out of fear of them rejecting her or not understanding her or shipping her off to a hospital with padded walls.

So you're saying if you were twelve we wouldn't respect you?. That isn't true.

Don't worry. You're not insane. In fact, far from it. You have no reason to go to a hospital with padded walls (if such a thing still exists). If you've only cut four times, and you haven't done yourself any serious damage, you can fix this before it gets worse.

What confuses me is that when your try to help someone who cuts they sometimes say "It's my body, I can do what I want with it!"
