Story:
I started running last week. My friend wanted someone to train with because she joined the Cross Country team in my school.
Then I had a really bad day Thursday. I didn't run that day because she was busy so it was supposed to be a break in the training.
When I was feeling really low that day, guess what I wanted to do?
Run.
Why?
It releases endorphins. Even when the running is difficult and painful, I keep doing it because it makes me feel good, it lifts my mood and relieves stress.

What's my point?
Running and cutting release the same neurotransmitters.
Cutting is an addiction that has a lot of substitutes in many many cases.

I was going read everybodys post but it would of took to long. In my personal conclusion is that i disagree with it all, yes i did think about it, i even cut a few times, I stoped, i live in a small town were if something happens ever one knows, and after people found out, i dynied it, saying i fell with a glass in my hand, but i could not handle people saying stuff to me and about me. Comminting Sudide is not healthy, i know people can get thrills from cutting, but what if ur arm falls off couse it got infected. It like your running away from ur problem if you cant deal you should ask someone. If you think you got nobody seek pro help.

How is slicing your wrist open better then crying?

Crying is a good stress reliver, I do it all the time, but thats because Im a giant panzie.

I don't think crying and cutting are the same though.

i dont know why she does it. but she isn't cutting her wrists though. the other night she was going through so much and she jut grabbed the scissors which were near her and started slicing her arm. and she does find that hurting herself makes it better.

I used to be a veeeery suicidal person.. I used to cut and attempt suicide.. I realized that I have a lot to live for, and I don't wanna ruin my family and friend's lives because of some stupid, selfish act of ignorance I so bravely pulled... It's not worth it.. I'm a happy punk...

I agree with you, its not worth it

I understand people who do it because they're depressed, but not the people who do it just because of a new fashion.

yes, most people try and act depressed to fit the goth and emo stereotypes ect, but then it gets hard for the people who are in actual fact being truthful, and are too scared to get help, you know? i mean, they will be called an attention seeker and a fake and all that, and it will make it worse, they'll get more and more depressesed because people think their faking it... and it can get really bad...
