Suicide and self harm!

I cut myself, and I've tried to commit suicide a lot of times... I don't think that it's bad. The cutting helps me get through my hard times and I know not to cut too deep, so, it's not really harmful. I personally dont' think that it's wrong for someone to commit suicide, it's you life... you live it for you and not for anyone else, if someone thinks that they should die, then that's what they think. I don't understand why everyone makes such a big deal of it, when people cut themselves.

It upsets people a lot, that's why people 'make a big deal of it'. My mum always used to say to me, "If someone else was doing that to you, I'd deck them. But I can't, because you're doing it to yourself." We've had a lot of screaming matches about it because it hurts her and it frustrates her because she can't take her feelings about it out on anyone. If someone else was slashing you with razors, your family and friends would never take it; they'd do everything they could to stop that person and tell them exactly what they think of them. But if you're doing it to yourself, then you're already hurting, you're already upset or have low self-esteem or whatever, so they can't. You'll get a lot of their emotions and upset thrown your way because there's no one else involved in the damage.

In a way, yeah, it is their body and they should be able to do what they want with it. But it's a bit risky, really, because everyone feels suicidal sometimes. If suicide wasn't a taboo or whatever we'd have people dropping all over the place and it would just be a bit of a shame, because if it's only a one off mood or if they're ill and can get better, then there's really no need to end your own life at that point.

I think that with Euthanasia it's a bit different, because if someone is cronically ill then they can't get better. It's a physical impossibility and all they're doing is ending their life peacefully before it gets too painful.

If someone is depressed, however, it is possible for them to get better. It's only one frame of mind that they have to be in to want to kill themselves, and if they do then that's it. It's over. If they wait it out and feel better then they'll probably be really damn grateful that they didn't act on that impulse.

The fact that people have the power to kill themselves and others is, in effect, free will and total control over their bodies. If someone really wants to die then they can, but I think encouraging it in any way would be hurtful and ignorant.

If someone is ill then we should help them get better, not give them the go-ahead to give up and pull the trigger.

I Just Want To say, that, well, Suicide is not a great exit, but still you have to consider it is an exit. I Mean, if you suicide, no more problems.

If we used suicide as a regular exit the whole human race would be non-existent. Everyone has problems and suicide is a fucking shit way of dealing with them. Sure, some problems are worse than others, but in the end they're just problems and problems come and go. Death doesn't. Once you pull the trigger you're dead and that's it. You can't come back. If you actually try and deal with your problems like the rest of us then maybe they'll actually subside and you won't have to kill yourself to be rid of them.

I think the main problem is that people don't understand how fickle their mood is. If you feel like your only escape from your problems is to die, then chances are you won't later. You might be so upset that you can't see straight, in which case you won't be able to think straight either and suicide is going to be the most obvious way out.
If people sat it out for a bit then when they can think clearer they'll probably be able to find a less harmful way of dealing with their problems. As I said before, It only takes one frame of mind to kill yourself. Moods are fickle and people seem to forget that and think that if they're upset, it'll never end.

I understand people which want to make a suicide... Sometimes people don't realise that here exists problems, that can destroy someone from inside. And I think that it's more horrible then suicide.
Moods...Hmm... The one who wants to make a suicide also knows that if he'll die, he won't come back. Even when he only wants to show, that he needs help, friends etc.

I'm christian, so if I look from the side of my religion, suicide is not only killing yourself(body)- you're killing your soul to...If u belive that someone like God exists.

To cut yourself is not stupid... I think. It helps a lot sometimes.

If you don't want to help yourself then you'll never get out of this.

People who love you can't just 'get over' the fact that you're hurting yourself, mentally and physically. I find it a lot easier to fight if I know how proud of me my little brother will be if I hold out and fight it off. He's the reason I'm battling this. If you're fighting for someone else, you get twice the pride.

But if u really havent got ANYONE? Or someone u love more than anything in the world doesn't want to notice your love ? And also doesnt care about it?

As people, we do have the chance to change our futures, unless of course you're fatalistic, but that's not relevant really.

There really isn't anything wrong with cutting as a habit when not taken to seriously. I think people should stop intervening in those cases and stop giving attention in other ones.

I never took wrist banging seriously. And a lot of people I knew never took cutting seriously.

By 'seriously', I mean attempting suicide.

*aha* I thought about cutting your arms and wrists becouse u cant manage with problems.
