i know. i debate with my father all the time, and i usually win (sorta). i got into highschool, and my history teacher was like "whoa" because i'd interrupt class to make a point. i was one of his favorite students because of it...its really cool to have people twice you age respect your opinions, and i think i learned more debating with him than i did when he was teaching.

I know. It's good to have debates, because you can get a point across and get respect as well as boost your self confidence. Like, in English we were having debates and one of them was on whether George Bush was a good president. I had a lot to say about that, and my english teacher was kind of shocked because i'm generally quiet and don't look like the kind of person to know about politics. But i think our generation should make a point to know somehting about it, considering that we're the future, and should know what we're getting into.

yeah...
i mean, my class was shocked at the end of the year because i can argue any side of an issue. they all know i hate bush, but they dont realize that i can back up everything i say and that i know how theyre gonna argue and so i can counter their attacks before they make them...the world has a new breed of politicians on its hands...i think that that image is gonna change. if a politician can be honest and still win a debate, then thats a scary thought because more people are gonna start to speak up and we, the people, are going to take back what is rightfully ours-- our country, and our government.

Exactly. Right now an honest politicion is as rare as.... a unicorn or something (oo, gd similie lol).
I think that when our generation gets up into the politics thing, everything will change, because the people that will go into that thing have been brought up to realise when they're being treated like idiots, and have been brought up knowing what it's like to have people to stand up to the government and say their own views.

i think people are afraid, really. have you BEEN to dc lately? i mean, you cant get within 10 ft of the fence around the white house without being threatened at gunpoint, no matter how innocent your reason isfor being there. to stand against whats going on right now seems slightly dangerous, cuz if we dont support the government, were labeled not only as unpatriotic, but occaisionally as terrorists.

I think it's harder to have a view on the givernemt that isnt patriotic than in england. In england, politics is a bt of a joke really, because all the polititions do is slag eachother off to try and win votes. My favourite vote getting tactic was:
"If we're elected we'll imprve nhs healthcare AND lower taxes!"
wtf? nhs health care is payed for with taxes!

NICE!!!!
that is so sad...
the world is coming to a depressing point, because in the states, ther isnt really more than one political party, and the citizens dont decide anything anyway.
how can there be "checks and balances" if everyone is on the same side of an issue?!

i know. in england there are three main political parties, and mostly their views are all the same.
there is, however, a party called the monster raving looney party. i dont know anything about them except their kl name lol.
but the thing with poverty as well. why dont we just cancel third world debt? it's not like we need the money they're paying back more than them.
i wrote a speech about that in english, it rly kicked ass lol

today at my school was non uniform because it was the last day before we break up for holidays , and there was a girl that came in a skirt so short u could see up it
knee high white boots and a small top where u could see her bra straps and stuff
i wanted to say slut but i couldnt because i knew id get loads of shit ( i often do when i open my mouth) plus she was my friend mate

but seriously she looked like a fucking prostitute
all the guys kept saying how much do you charge to her and stuff

i just cant believe her mum let her turn up to school like that

also i was watching a music channel early and this song came on and there was this on guy and all these girls dancing around him with short skirts on loads of make up and stuff and i was like omg this is wat young girls have to look up too its so wrong

I agree that it is rediculous wat parents let there children...especially girls leave the house in...i mean they shouldnt be draped in bed sheets and stuff.....but good gods! its rediculous....and yeah music videos that all you watch for the 3 min..whle listening to really crappy music is girls shaking their asses, it disguits me...it might have been kinda ok for a few vid for a while but now whe you have to have but shakin twig girls or 3/4 naked girls in yr video to make it on a countdown...or even to be played on tv its stupid and really really wrong.....

doesnt that classify it as a technically "adult" station? i mean, its basically the same as pornography, but for the act...its still more and more "adult entertainment" than music or anything else. hell, they could record a strip bar and put it on tv if they felt like it if theyre gonna let that happen. ...hmmm...we can sell sex but not politics on a music tv channel...erg...i feel so violated...

well since mtv and mtv2 and vh1 are targeted towards teens...i wouldnt classify that as adult entertainment..but with some of the videos on there they shoudl be....
