I'm fourteen years of age (People say I sound older), and I still don't wear makeup that often. I'd say I put some eye makeup on about once every three weeks...to a month.
I wore make-up when i was 11.
Not because i wanted to look older/sluttier/whatever.
I just liked it, i thought it was fun to wear purple eyeshadow not me trying to look older.
well I think that alot of people put too much emphasis on popularity and coolness. when I was in grade 8 (last year) there were many, many, many people who got in trouble because their shoes fly off in gym because it "wasnt cool to tie your shoes"
I also have an 11 year old friend who for christmas all she wanted was 50 dollar shirts from BEBE and not a day goes by where I dont hear her complain that "I have bigger boobs than her" (Im 14 and she is 11 years old)

That used to happen at my School
But then some girl broke her ankle whilst she was running because of that. So you have to tie your laces now.
I didnt have a choice, I had to grow up. My parents got divorced when I was nine and my Dad moved to Chicago, and we moved to St. Louis. SO my mom had to work alot so I babysat 3 kids and did alot more than I use to, but I didnt have a choice. I know within the first month of being held responsible for someone else, i grew up alot. With that, I wanted to do other things, like wear make up and my taste in clothes changed, music, movies, everything. Then when I was 11 I got a cell phone too, but trust me, I was a very mature 11 year old.
When people say stuff about clothes, as in they are to revealing or skanky, thats an issue all in its own. Thats trying to fit into what popular and excepted, not growing up. Growing up is realizing that what you think is important now what Susy Q thinks is cool. When you try to fit trends, thats taking a step backwards. Growing up and being mature go together.
Now, I cant stand doing my make up and I never use my cell phone except on weekends, but make up and cell phones have nothing to do with growing up. Growing up is an entirely different thinf.

Key word being feel, they are far from grown up. I think a better title for thsi thread would be is the youth to impressionable, because I strongly disagree that they are growing up too fast, they are on the opposite effect.[/b]

would you let your 10yr old go out wearing a skirt up to her arm pits and wearing tons of make up? Many mums do and thye girls then grow up faster.

sorry i'm tired, mums and schools are letting girls dress as they please so they grow up faster. I see girls wearing really short skirts going to school and they're shirts tyed up in the middle oxposing they're stomachs, girls are dressing now to attract boys and ion some cases tease.

Once again, how many normal adults do you see actually dress like that, mature ones? Not to many, becuase its immature. Clothes have nothing to do with growing up. They just show how easily immpresionable kids are. Growing up is realizing your not the only person in this world, getting your first house, being in a serious relationship, caring about other people, matureing(not just physically), gaining responsibility. How you dress has nothing to do with growing up.

no i guess it doesnt. But many girls dont have responsiblity and thye think they're the only people in this world. They get everything they want. (not all of them do mind)
