Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 634 | September 26th, 2006 at 08:41am Question is, why would you NEED a mobile aged 11? I got mine when I went into year 7 and although I was 11, I rarely used it. I didn't see the point. Ditto make-up. And i got seriously bullied in year 7 because I didn't wear make-up and I had a really long skirt. I liked it like that, but they didn't like it. I was pretty suicidal because the bitches ganged up on me because I wasn't "cool" but in year 8 i met my best pal who was going through the same thing. |

I had a modile when I was 11, I used it as much then as I do now. I mean really why does anyone NEED a phone? Haven't younger kids got as much right to call and text people as anyone else? And dispite the whole text talk ruining spelling and grammer I don't see in any harm in it. In fact the police can use mobiles to track down kids that have been snatched, like a couple of years ago they tracked down a 12 year old's body, if the boy didn't have his phone on him when he was killed his body could have been lying in a ditch for months with his poor family still wondering what happened to their son. |

i have only just now given my young daughter and son a phone each because we have moved house and we know live out further from they;re school and they have to catch a train there and back so they need it so that if anything happens they can call me.
but anyway regarding the young 10 year old being pregnant well all i need to ask was where is her mother? why didnt she have some sort of control over her?
also these school uniforms what goes through the perants heads when they are buying uniform for they're kids "yes dear of course you can have a skirt that shows your private bits and while your at it do you want a thing aswell?" |

 | September 27th, 2006 at 09:24am I don't think that dressing sluttily and wearing make up is growing up though. If anything, it's kinda symbolic of how when you're little you always want to be wearing your mummy's clothes and jewelery and make up and shoes. It's like that, only more realistic for them.
When tweens and young adolecences go through these phases, they usually fade out, and the the girl grows up and matures. Looking at all the little people in my school, the young 'uns, in like year 8 and year 9 all seem to be wearing masks, but they disappear for a while and the girls are kinda shown as who they really are. That's really when they grow up. But, if they're boozing and swinging and going out and stuff at like 11, that's growing up fast. And it's a good and a bad thing. I know I was never a slut, but I did go out with 16, 17 year olds when I was 11. Wild, wild nights... |

| September 27th, 2006 at 06:58pm Girls feel they need to be sluts to get guys. Thats how I feel, and its never good to be questioning whether or not you should change into that. I know over here you get all the guys if you're a ho. It works it really does and its completely sad. |

Loads of my brother's 10 year old friends have mobiles and they only go to school up the road, they all live in the same town and are always riding around together; so they really don't need phones. |

But that's not really for you to judge whether or not someone needs a phone. Anyway phones aren't a bad thing, there's more pros than cons to kids having phones. |

| September 28th, 2006 at 09:18pm I am 13 and i dont wear make-up yet or wear dresses and skirts and aren't very interested in having boyfriends yet. I find it really hard to fit in with my friends who are only worrying about what they look like. Anyone got any ideas on how I could fit in without trying to be someone who i aren't. Some girls in my year are xtreamly slutty and it just is wrong what they do when they walk past guys. I recently went to the shopping center and saw g-strings for 6 year olds it is getting out of controll the stuff some companys do. |

Simple answer, don't try and fit in. I did and my friends are pleantyful. You can tell they're your friends cause they embrace you no matter what.
I don't understand when dresses became slutty. I mean, you go from wearing dresses when you're young, to the jeans phase, and then the skirts and dresses again. The evolution of fashion is astonishing. |

It was a bit of a shock for me, because that's not the sort of thing you'd see in an English swimming pool, simply because you'd freeze your bum off if you did, and it's seen as indecent, but that's just the culture and temperature difference |
