My friend Maddy's whole class(xept her) got durnk on boose and they had to make em puke and stuff, must have sucked for her and the teacher. I dont wear much make - up, i occasionally wear eyeliner and vampire makeup around the eyes cause of my mood in the mornings( vampire make-up - super cool and ego mood). Kids(not only girls) should know what is appropriate and whats not. the one hting that really gets on my nerves is how many wannabe posers there are. i see loads of fake emos around and babe wannabe posers who just well, ARE. if one isnt emo, then acting like it wont make you one. just so u no, i am not emo.(but i find emos adorably cute). are girls growing up too fast - yes. one should have fun, not rush forward to being an adult. sure, one should have plans for the future and not run aorund with their heads falling off but still, one hsould have fun and not ruin their lives with adult stuff like cigarettes, major doses of alcohol and drugs. |

ridicu[LOU]s Jackass ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 1009 | well i'm 16 and people think i look 18 but i don't really want to look it.. sometimes when people look older than they are they can't help it... I dont wear make up, but maybe thats why i look older, but if i DID wear makeup would that make me look older or younger?? isnt make up meant to make people look younger? instead we're judging people on the fact that they USE make up, assuming that they must want to be older.... -sigh- bah. |
nacho cheese and anarchy Geek ![]() Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 290 ![]() | I do think kids are growing up too fast. Reading through a few of the pages I was trying to think of what I was doing a certain ages. There was a girl mentioned who was 6 I beileve and own a cell phone. Now I can see the whole "I'm concerned about my child" part. But 6? I mean c'mon I was only in kidergarten when I was 6. I didn't even know how to write the alphabet yet! Also, people are mentioning girls who are 11 and dress like their 17. When I was 11, I was in 5th grade. The huge thing was to have these pants that would zip off to shorts or capris, not jeans that had about 15 holes in them. Geeze, I was wearing dresses until 6th grade even though no one else was. And nobody acted different to me or anything. The media is to blame too. But, shouldn't the parents be monitoring what their kids are watching? Or how about the parents buying them these clothes? Kids growing up faster also has to do with the parents taking a little more, what's the word?, care?, for their children. ![]() And yes I realize that those are completely different times, even if it is only a decade or so, but really, getting a cell phone before you can read or write the word 'home'? Oi vey. |
The Doctor Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8786 ![]() ![]() | I think they are. Well, not only girls. I mean, I had hardly any priviliges growing up. I wasn't even allowed to go down into the town centre without my Mother until I was 12. Then in four years, I did a lot of growing up. A lot. I think what some kiddies need to realise is that being grown up ain't cool. It sucks. It's not all make up and gadgets. There's university, work, mortgages, dishes, wisdom teeth...I could go on. |

I compare myself and friends at age 13 to girls today at 13 and physically the body is different. The breasts and hips and ass are much more pronounced then when I was that age. We were flat as boards back then. it's intersting how nature is changing us |

lyrical_mess Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 5278 ![]() ![]() | sampalletband: I don't think it's all girls, today. I was thirteen two years ago and almost every girl in my class had comparitively huge boobs and stuff, including one of my friends who was like, 4 feet tall. And some of us remained, well, flat. For quite a while. But interestingly enough, there's a fifth grader I hang out with sometimes, her name's Sanjana. She has breasts that aren't much smaller than mine (I've grown). So that's one wonderful example of what you're talking about. |

I am very lucky to have a pc at such a young age but just remember, if pc's were out before they were, I bet my parents would have had them at a younger age. I think the problem here is that we come from totally different places. |
Jesse Lacey Post Whore ![]() Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 23946 ![]() ![]() | Well, the technology is there, why not use it? Cell phones, for example, it's not only the "slutty" girls who use them. Some people NEED a cell phone for after school activites. It doesn't mean they're growing up too fast. If you're in basketball and practice is held a little later or cancelled you need to arrange a ride to pick you up. And style? You have yours, others have theirs. Maybe your style rubs off as "I'm troubled, I need help." to others. Almost every girl uses make-up. I use eyeliner everyday. I'm sure you do too. Just because they use glitter, for example, doesn't mean they're growing up too fast. Everyone has their ideas as to what looks good or not. Just because the current clothing we have nowdays is different then what our mothers had doesn't mean, we girls are growing up fast. Also, in some situations, girls (and boys) are forced to grow up quicker then they had planned. |
ha_ha_you're_screwed Geek ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 151 ![]() ![]() | I think girls are growing up to fast, but then again, I live wear girls in elementary school are wearing mini skirts and tight jeans with tight ass tank tops. I'm a high schooler and girls in middle school have bigger boobs then me, hell! Boys have bigger boobs then me but to get back to the point, girl's role models have changed. Now-a-days one main way to get noticed is to be sexed up. People might not agree, but the role models that I grew up with: The not-so-whorish Brittany Spears, the-covered-up Jennifer Lopez, the-super-cute Mandy Moore, and etc, were different, most of them didn't even expose alot. You don't see that now. Role Models are changing alot more and it effects girls, I sure as HELL wasn't wearing mini skirts when I was 8 years old so the people that girls look up to now are changing so why shouldn't they? *cough*I still think it's wrong*cough* ........*is done* |
ColleenStarship Addict ![]() Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 11991 | why do we keep mentioning boobs? its not like girls can prevent themselves from growing. ![]() |
ha_ha_you're_screwed Geek ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 151 ![]() ![]() | I only mentioned it because I'm purely jealous. I have a swimmer's body. *smiles* |
ColleenStarship Addict ![]() Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 11991 | but it has nothing to do with girls growing up too fast. |
ha_ha_you're_screwed Geek ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 151 ![]() ![]() | That's why I said after that, "Lets get back to the point." I know it ad nothing to do with it, I just said it. |
Opheliac_666 Geek ![]() Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 449 | It did have something to do with the topic. Girls get them when they grow up and people can get them if they grow up too fast, physically. I saw a little boy once that had full grown men legs. It was actually kind of humorous. ![]() haha cool smiles ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
ColleenStarship Addict ![]() Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 11991 | Opheliac_666: get breast implants. you have to be 18 .... an adult, your no longer a child. i bet that little kid didn't ask for man legs either. |
lyrical_mess Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 5278 ![]() ![]() | TAKiNGBACKSUNDAY<333: EXACTLY. Cell phones are becoming necessary. I mean, you can give your kid 50 millions quarters a month to use the pay phone or you can buy them a cheap cell phone so they can call you and tell you where they will be. I had a cell phone in sixth grade to tell my mom I'd be at some club or another or if I was going to someone's house or blah blah blah. I wasn't allowed to call my friends on it; that's what the landline is for. I didn't even give any of my friends my cell number until eighth grade. So having a cell phone is okay for a ten year old. It doesn't mean that people are going to give their fifth grade children glitzy camera phones and MotoRazrs. |
