You can buy Les Pauls with tremalo bar fitted to them. Or get one fitted to them.

the les paul will probably be more versatile. But the fender telecaster actually handles reaally well at high distortion, so i dunno either.

It depends on if you prefer the sound of a les paul with a p-90 or the telecastor with its 2 single coils. You should try to find a music store and try them out to see which one sounds and feels better.

They will both sound like crap if you don't have a good amp though. A squire can sound okay if you have a decent amp....

Les pauls are somewhat heavy. (Heavier than most Ibanez and Jacksons 420)

If you want a tremolo like a floyd rose locking trem added a cavity would have to be cut through the body of the les paul...

Wow, i just realised that this thread was made in July.....

I'd go for the Les Paul for sure. Although my hero, aka God, aka Joe Strummer, played a Telecaster.

not with these stretsbar tremelo's, fits into the holes that are already there. Much better than Bigsby tremelo's shame is they are about £200

Les Paul all the way. Besides, I can NOT stand the shape of the Telecaster.

I like Les Pauls but Gibson is just so overpriced and overrated. But the Tele is pretty and just has a vintage vibe to it. So I guess I'm for the Tele

depends on what kinda telecaster you're thinkin of getting. the melody maker is a great guitar and is very light. the p90 sounds awesome through most amps too. i have two telecasters but since ya havent said which kind i cant tell ya any opinion on that. so i'd say the melody maker! it's inexpensive, well made and sounds and plays great.
