guys, i don't know if you read books but here's a good site of book review, http://www.nybooks.com/index
it talk about everything, mostly - the current affairs, well, those reviews were written by different people, so you can look into a issue from different point of views, so take a look at that if you are interested in things happening around the world.

If you like history and want info on events or people go to www.bbc.co.uk/history

Here's one we use at our school for currnet-events papers:
www.2facts.com

Unfortunately, it costs cash. So I don't really know how useful it is for everyone, but it's a fantastic site if you want to pay for it--gives fair, balanced data in an easily-accessible format.

I don't know if this is appropriate, but we discuss religion a lot in here (especially Christianity). But if you ever need a Bible quotation to aid your discussion, go here; http://www.studylight.org/. The 'Search the Bible' feature is useful.

hey folks: I had a thought.

Books like Al Franken's and Sean Hannity's are probably biased. I would like to believe otherwise, but they probably are. So if you read facts from there, how about not using them as a source? Check out the source yourself. If the book's any good at all, it'll cite its sources somewhere. Look them up and cite them for us. But ol' Mikey Moore holds little sway here.

My two cents for you.

Clap

if you use a reference, make sure that it also has references
like at the end of a wikipedia article the well-written ones have sources at the bottom, and www.snopes.com always includes sources at the bottom of their articles

just make sure that you use secondary sources as well
