 | February 3rd, 2008 at 06:07pm Because I seem to have not posted them, which is amazing because it really is some of my favourite photography, I shal post my various scuba diving pictures.
Sorry for the big-ass-ness.
Also, before you praise me, keep in mind, all I do is click the button. Mother Nature...yeah, as cheesy as it sounds, nature really is astonishinly beautiful if you take the time (and, if you scuba dive, the outrageous amount of money) to really look at it. So yeah, I really didn't do anything at all apart from a little bit of photoshop to remove the blue tints.
The majority of these are taken in Phuket, an island off the coast of Thailand, big tourist place. Due to global warming, all of these wonderful corals and tropical fish may be gone in the next twenty odd years of so. Please keep this in mind.

A banded sea-snake.

My favourite shot I took of the barracuda. I love the way them reflect the light.

Batfish.

Beautiful young lionfish.

Crown of thorns.

Crown of thorns when it closes.

A cuttlefish. Tasty little buggers.

Dolphins! Their happy dolphin-ishness is enough to make you drown! These ones came about ten meters away from our boat. Shame I didn't take a picture of the ginormous manta ray, fully grown. But that was a very early morning and I couldn't find the camera so I just watched it until it swam into the depths. It's always exciting when the big animals come near the boat.

Triggerfish. You can guess what the scuba diving hand signal is for it. It's important to learn the signal for triggerfish because then can get quite aggressive sometimes since they're territorial fish. This one was giving me a death stare, I swear.

A lovely, friendly green sea turtle. I zoomed in, it wasn't really that close.

Big ass jellyfish.

Moray eel. These things can sometimes be nasty. When I was six, my best friend's father went scuba diving and somehow a moray eel bit off his thumb. I suspect though, that it was provoced.

Lovely shot of an octopus.

Beautiful seahorse.

This is an adult lionfish. The spines are poisonous, but in Thailand, where I always scuba dive, there are tonnes of them. You have to be very careful.
That's it for now. It's quite late at night. I'll share more later. |

 | February 3rd, 2008 at 06:18pm Yeah. But keep in mind, I go on like maybe a hundred dives a year, and only a quarter of those I rent a camera, and these are basically some of the highlights over four years so from like a hundred dives or so. It's though to find many of these animals. |

 | February 4th, 2008 at 09:17am My favourites are the barracuda, the sea turtle (which is the only one I have seen in like hundreads of dives), and the jellyfish. I love the contrast between the water and the jellyfish in that picture. I should have zoomed out more though, and if I was like a metre lower, I may have caught it's reflection in the surface tension. |

I was really proud of this when I took it =] Luckily, they turned the lights on just as we were leaving and I managed to quickly get a picture. It's from my school trip to Paris a few weeks ago =] |
