 | September 25th, 2007 at 03:38pm Joe's cropped hair reminds me of an old friend. Infact, it looks a lot like him. Interesting. |

 | September 29th, 2007 at 07:32pm I made a bunch of avatars, but I'm still deciding which ones to cut out and which ones to keep.
The problem of course with trying to make Clashy ones, as I'm sure some of you have come across this problem before as well, it's that alost all the pictures are too grainy, or they're all grayscale, or just bad quality in general. It leaves very little to work with sometimes, so I just end up taking screen caps of random videos.
A narrative to the reply of the picture of Joe on the spiraly thingy:

(Those who can compress it without too much distortion are welcome to do so.)
A cliched one:
Paul:
And a Joe one:
I like my red star brush. Very Marxist. |

 | September 30th, 2007 at 08:36am I love that one too! I was just messing around with the colour balence and I really liked that sort of mix. It's a screen cap from one of their earlier inerviews, whih always makes me crack up because the lady views them as some sort of public enemy or threat of some sort. Well they were all viewed like that when they first came out, weren't they?
I love the end of Vision of a Homeland where Anthony Davie or whatever his name is, reveals for the first time that when he was working as a civil servant, he saw that the government actually kept close tabs on Joe's whereabouts and activities. It's just homourous looking back because it really was just a bit of fun for them, wasn't it. |

 | September 30th, 2007 at 05:29pm Yeah, they weren't as articulate in their views as they soon became. I suppose they were worried about sounding stupid, but they didn't, they were much too smart to do so. I mean, they were really witty here and there. But yeah, they avoided eye contact a lot with both the camera and the interviewer.
I love though when she asks them what they sang about and Paul goes, '"Career Opportunities", "White Riot".' And before that the lady says, 'But it's another generation.' And Paul replies, 'Yeah, one that went wrong.' Oh, the wit. I also love how he pivots back and forth like some basketcase.
One thing I strongly dislike about this piece is the obvious, complete irrelevence that the Sex Pistols and "Anarchy in the U.K." have with what The Clash stood for and were talking about. |

Oh and ditto at the last part. Sex Pistols sorta started the whole thing, made it famous, but The Clash OWN them. |

 | October 1st, 2007 at 02:47pm Conceptually, The Clash did own, yes indeed. wnd.
OH MY GOD! I totally forgot about it, Sex Pistols reunion!!! I don't know why, but I do love Johnny Rotten, only because his arrogance is so charismatic and yet so contemptible at the same time. It's like some weird maths equation, charisma + contempt = canonization. |
