I agree. I was brought up in a Christian home (nope, not gonna preach), so the whole idea of getting married and raising a family was taught early on. Having said all that, when I got out on my own I ended up living for about a year with the guy I ended up marrying and having two terrific kids with. We're still together 24 years later. I'm not saying it's always smooth sailing, but we manage to work things out.
