As I Lay Dying, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Converge, Norma Jean, there's plenty of good metalcore bands out there.
them being metalcore *ponders* i, personally, would just label them all as metal. so is there like a definition of metalcore?
I usually think of it as Being metal with elements of Hardcore mixed in, or vice versa. But yeah, TTEOTD is more death metal, and I don't consider Convege metalcore (they're more Hxc/grind) but I've seen them labled that.

it's honestly hard to keep up with all the sub genres and whatnot these days. how come we don't keep it as: metal, rock, and punk (and the main main other ones). there's like nü-metal, metalcore, xcore, etc. wowzers. i will give a dollar to any person who can list every single one of the sub genres.
You forgot mathcore. O_o @ that.

Something like Eighteen Visions being metalcore. Or perhaps Atreyu.
