Creavitiy Drop In American Idiot?

Before we start, I love Green Day. However, I think i've seen a drop off in the creativity in their music on American Idiot. The lyrical prowess is still there, but the riffs are becoming more repetitive and dull. Granted, You can only be so creative with three chord songs, but they have always seemed to do it. So, what do you guys think?

Green Day created a masterpiece. You may not like it; but you cannot deny that it's good. Say you hate it for all I care...but you got to admit it's a DAMN good album.

I love American Idiot, I dont know why people dont like it, I wish they would tell me, I want to understand. I am a newer Green Dya fan, Shennanagins was my first cd. So its wht Im use to, but every1 always said they use to be different, but i listen to there old records and thye sound the same to me? maybe im just wierd.

*shrugs* i dunno. It was a little... unexpected, I'm used to listening to heavier things. It wasn't my type. Yet, i love the Cure lol and I didn't really like the message being thrown across to me while I was listening. I jsut didnt like it.

I don't like it. American Idiot last year was like a new food, I liked it. Then it was forcefed to me, too much of a good thing can be bad.

I like the old Green Day better, their sound was more raw, and their egos weren't the size of North America.

I thought the guitar wsa somewhatr repetative, but not JOS or Homecoming. I love the lyrics. most punk bands are kind of repetative though, like the ramones, each song had like 5 words, yet they all still rock.

yeah, some repetition is good, but not on guitar, like that. JOS had some wicked guitar parts in places though.

Meh. I don't really like Green Day that much anymore anyway.
