Green Day have done it, HIM have done it... God knows we can't expect bands who are performing day in and day out for years to keep coming back more energetic than ever. And I mean, the Chilis are all in their 40s now so... Yeah.

 | July 19th, 2006 at 10:40am OK Whoever said that they're "way below expectations" live must be deaf, blind and totally idiotic.
I saw them last night and they were just bloody brilliant. Nearly every song was a classic and their on-stage chemistry was just so fantastic. They could let the songs go off into insanely brilliant jams and then pull it all back into the song again.
Just a few of the highlights of the night:
Readymade - my favourite Chili's song
Don't Forget Me - sheer brilliance
By The Way, Give It Away - jump around craziness and just plain class
Under The Bridge - to hear this song live is just chilling.
I'm sad its over but I'm going to be able to say I've seen a truly great act up close and in the flesh. Hopefully I'll see them again one day. |

I was lucky to hear it, though. Apparently it wasn't on their setlist and they were due to encore with Soul to Squeeze and then Give It Away, but John messed up and started the intro to Under The Bridge. Anthony started laughing and said "well you might as well carry on".
And so they played it. Oh yes  |

I have tickets for their Montréal show in September. But it's still soooo far!!
I had seen a bit of them on SNL... And it wasn't fabulous, I thought. (To 'answer' to what 409 Coffeemaker said.) It looked as if they weren't ready for it or something. ...But I also saw bits of Slane Caslte's dvd and OhMaGa it'll just be awesome. |

saw them again on tuesday and somehow managed to get back into the golden circle.
Performance wise earls court was amazing, atmosphere wise it was hyde park
but both amazing concerts. |

Whenever theres a topic saying "dream band" I always say that Flea, Frusciante, Smith and Kiedis would be in there. Hence the Red Hot Chili Peppers would be, and are, my dream band. |
