I dont personally have a problem with it...but i can see both sides of the argument; many people think a marriage provides a more stable enviroment for children.

I don't care. I think you can get pregnant without marriage, possibility or plan of marriage... In fact, you can get pregnant even without a man...

i dont find it wrong. My mum got pregnent at 14. She now wishes she haddent as she now has a stubbern annoying doerfaced teenage girl to cope with.

*le sigh* Marriage. What makes marriage so special? All it is really is a piece of paper entitling you to certain rights for another person. It means nothing. Love should be a reason people decied to have a child, not a piece of paper.

i dont think you should have a piece of metal and paper to say you love someone. therefore i dont really believe in 'marriage' therefore i think its ok that you have bebehs before you 'marry'

I think it's fine if the two people are responsible and ready and prepared to have a baby then they can. Why should having a piece of paper make any difference?

I think, ideally, if the baby comes into a good family, where the parents are commited to the child and are mature enough to take care of it, then it shouldn't matter about how long they've been seeing each other or if they're married or not.

i think it is absolutely always wrong. it's never a very good life for the child. i mean y'all are probably going to bring the example of the dead beat asshole dad, and of course the kid is better without him.. but in that case i blame the mother for being with a man like that knowing she could be bringing a child into the world with that. rape i guess would be an exception.. but that's about it.

What if the couple don't want to get married though? I mean, if they're a responsible couple and know the consequences, have a great relationship... are everything a married couple are, except without the marriage? Why is that any different?

GreenDayIsBetter, i disagree with you there. If two parents love their child and take care of he or she well, then thats all that should matter. And they do not need to be legally married for that to happen. After all, that is what marriage boils down to. A legal bonding.

i expected you to disagreee with me and that's fine.. i'm a huge believer in marriage and such and that's where my opinion stemmed from. i mean it's all good that y'all disagree..i totally expected it.. that's just me and my marriage thoughts

Fair enough. I know what your getting at, because I suppose Marriage is more formal and serious, so in theory could be a better place to raise a child as there is more commitment possibly.

thank you and i can completely see where you are coming from.. marriage doesn't necessarily make you a good parent. i just like the atmosphere better for a child. at least you agreed to an agreement though instead of fighting to the death about our opinions like a lot of others here lol.

well i think if you're certain that your in a stable relationship then go for it. but too many kids come from broken homes these days

I think you're absolutely right.

bleh.. it's the symbolism of marriage you assholes.. not that fucking piece of paper.

I don't think you should HAVE to be married to haev children or a sexual relationship. I guess a stable relationship helps, but casual affairs don't help if you end up getting pregnant.
