lmfao The percussion solo part is probably my favorite part of the movie. The best one was when they guy picked up that one thing and Dave was like "What the fuck is that? Did you pay money for that??"

Dave's "solo" owned Retard

I'm not wild about Jackson United either... they're kind of boring... reminds me of Blink when Mark sings... Chris's voice does, that is.

Two hours before show time in Detroit, drummer Taylor Hawkins was backstage with the rest of the Foo Fighters. Unlike a lot of other bands, they aren’t precious about psyching up for a show, or demand privacy. They remain in the same room, they crack jokes, and his best friend Dave Grohl comes up with hilarious anecdotes. A constant flow of people wander in and out even as the Foos work out their set list.
“This can be Grand Central sometimes and it can suck,” Hawkins said. “But we like that vibe. I once met Manic Street Preachers and they were real dickheads. I really liked their album Everything Must Go. We were on the same festival, I went into their area, and chatted with, uh, the drummer or the singer. The rest of the band came in, and he said, `you better go’. I thought he was kidding. But it was like, `no serious, you gotta go’.”
Mention of the Preachers sparked the discussion how they refused to have sex for their first three years, to preserve their creative juices. John Frusciante of the Chili Peppers also abstains when recording. Did the Foos ever discuss doing something similar?
“A lot of people see creativity as a message from God,” he snorted. “We don’t take ourselves that seriously. I warm up before I play. But I won’t not have sex because I want to ... (snigger) save my mojo. Athletes do it, and there might be some truth in it. But I’d rather have sex with my wife than have a good show (laughs).”
The expanded eight piece Foo Fighters were in Detroit as part of a run of acoustic shows with Bob Dylan, who has a hotshot new band and brought back songs such as Tangled Up In Blue into the set.
If you missed out on seeing the Foos at the Sydney Opera House over three nights recently, fret not. Hawkins says they’ll be back in Australia in 2007. The Opera shows saw them incorporate violin, piano, mandolin and accordion on songs from disc two of In Your Honor and rework their classics. Grohl also pulled out a Nirvana song he wrote, Marigold, the b-side to the 1993 single, Heart-Shaped Box, which he’d never performed live.
“Sydney had the best vibe of all the gigs we’ve done, I mean that,” Taylor emphasises. “It was a live sounding room, obviously designed for opera singers without microphones, and it worked.”

However, the Foos’ new live CD and DVD Skin And Bones, were culled from three sold-out performances at Los Angeles’ Pantages Theater. It’s the oldest theatre in LA, and it’s where Hawkins saw his first concert when he was five (a Beatles tribute called Beatlemania).
The album has been followed by a DVD with five additional songs and some extras.
Grohl recently said that doing the acoustic sessions added 10 years to the Foos career. What did he mean by that?
“It’s not a direction. It’s a frame of mind that we don’t have to restrict ourselves to a style or sound. That excites me. We don’t want to do acoustic records forever. But at least in our realm, nothing is too much. We won’t have DJs onstage, or loops or backing tracks. That’d goes against our ethos. That is, if you can’t do it onstage, don’t fucking do it.”

INterview with Taylor.. I love the part where he's all like "I'd rather fuck my wife than play a show." lmfao.

Oh heck yesss, what have I been telling you all along? Nate/Tay is glorious! I can't decide if I like that or 1989-1991 Anth/John better...hahaha. But one of those is second for me and one is third. D/T being first goes without saying, of course. Ohh, but I forgot Kurt...

That last picture is the sweetest thing ever. They're like 2 little kids with a secret fort. Retard Retard

I guess not...well, what would they have been nominated for? *think think* They had a buncha nominations last year but I think it's a rule that if an award can physically be given to U2, it will, so everyone else is out of luck. Laughing

Fizz I totally agree with your list.

Apparently, Kurt and Dave weren't very good friends at all. He said in that one Rolling Stone article that they didn't talk all that much or anything, they pretty much just made music together.

Won't be on 'til Sunday night. Going to the Rock Hall! Woooh! Fizz

AHHHGJDFHLGS

You better tell us, (at least me since I've neer been there Finger) all about it when you get back. I hope you have a blast! Ah

Yeah Dave is kinda a schizo when he talks about Kurt. He says that they had a great time and that Kurt was the funniest guy ever sometimes, and then other times he said that he didn't have fun with the band and that it seemed more like work to him. I think Taylor said the same thing about being in Alanis, that it wasn't fun, as opposed to being just a job and work.

AH! The FOAF speech lmfao.

Dave*talking about one of his first phone convos with Kurt* : "Oh yeah.. we were just at this really lame shitty fucking party and we had all this beer and it was like a hot chocolate party and some girl played the most lame fucking depressing shit ever."
Kurt: "Oh, that's my girlfriend."
lmfao lmfao lmfao. I love Dave's face after it when he's giggling and laughing.
Dave: "Whooops. *mumbling* Guess I'm not going to Seattle anytime soon"

lmfao. Dammit. I really wanna rip it for Annie but I can't figure out how.

*Dave talking about when he first saw Kurt and Krist at the baggage claim in Seattle*

"I was like .... Oh no! This is going to be horrible. They're weird!" and then he tells about how Krist is like [--------------------------------------] that tall *motions like 5 feet above him* and Kurt's about [---] this short *motions about 2 feet below him*
lmfao.

TURTLLEEESSSS. *bangs head against microphone*

"Kurt had these turtles in this weird aquarium thing.. which he thought...were happy... but they really weren't. I know because I slept in the same room as them and every night at midnight the turtles with their hard shell head thingys would try to get out and go like this against the glass-- *he bangs his head slowly against the microphone* 9 months of this!"

lmfao lmfao.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnd I just basically gave away the whole FOAF speech lmfao. I'm cool. Fizz

lmfao lmfao at the unhappy escaping turtles.

I know!!! Dave never seems to be able to decide whether he liked Kurt at all or not. lmfao Sometimes he loves him and sometimes he's like "meh. whatever." And Kurt wasn't exactly the nicest to poor ickle Dave, BUT I read a quote from him saying that when he was all fucked up on drugs and stuff, the only person he could really talk to about it was Dave because he "at least listens and isn't judgemental" and blah blah. Soooo whatever. Yeah, it's not like D/T where they're actually fucking in real life Wink But it's still fun.

LOVE FOR FREAKISHLY TALL KRIST AND FREAKISHLY SHORT KURT. Hug

I haven't read BJ/Tre in ages. Shifty BUT CHRIS/NATE IS TEH PWN. For sure. *and the Nate obsession marches on* And you know I love Anthony/John aaannnd whatever else there is. hahaha.

AWWWW at Dave banging his head off the mike. lmfao One time I was trying to imitate him, I think Tom and I were playing Times Like These or something, and I hit my face off the mike. lmfao
