yeah people who say they are trying to be Nirvana are not listening to they're music hard enough.

Dave Grohl used to be in Nirvana, and loves hardcore screamy music, so yeah he is bound to get some influences from that period of his musical career, but Foo Fighters are not grunge.

They have they're own sound Very Happy

I think my fave is There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Good album. I also love the first one too.

Teh Foo were never Nirvana and there's rarely any of their songs that sounds like Nirvana. Taylor is a much faster drummer than Dave ever was in Nirvana. Dave is a simple hard hitter. Taylor is somewhat of a hard hitter but he's more of a faster guy. He's into filling the spaces with rolls and lots of cymbals and stuff.

The Foo and Nirvana just have a different sound. And Dave's never gonna be Kurt. That much is for sure. I wish people would stop comparing the Foo to Nirvana. For the simple fact that Dave Grohl was in Nirvana.

Hahahah. Me too. It's like when I first got into Green Day and I was obsessing over Billie Joe. Now I'm obsessing over Taylor. Its pretty pathetic and seeing them in 8 days isn't helping either...just makes me more excited.

I think I saw Times Like These on tv last year or whenever it was. and didn't know who they were and I didn't really like them. Then I heard Best of You and didn't know it was them and I hated that song and I still do. And then I got into them a few months ago and now .. ugh its so bad. Its the ONLY thing I've been listening to for the past 2 or 3 months.
yada yada.

Ahhhhhhh... I can't get rid of this obsession.

well my favourite Foos song is Breakout, so I'd have to go with that Very Happy

"Br@+": Yeah I started liking them from either Learn to Fly or Times Like These. I seem to know a lot about them as I always look up loads about a band I am obsessed about hehe. And I have all they're albums. Once I heard times...and learn to fly, I got all they're albums so been a fan since those 2 songs!

"fight war, not wars"- Yeah I heard Daves mum comes to they're gigs and hangs backstage, and one time she did drink with Billie Joe lol. Think it was in his biography I bought, called "Dave Grohl-Nothing to Lose"

I've seen a picture of Dave, his Mom and BJ talking. Its cute.
Learn To Fly was the first song I acutally liked and its the one that got me itno the Foo. And now I'm not even crazy about that song. I remember I was so badly obsessed with it. I don't really know as much about them as I do about Green Day. I'm trying to learn more about them as I hang out on the Foo board a lot.

AH that's Dave's mom in that picture?? I've been trying to figure out who that lady was for months. hahaha. Straaange...Davey's such a little momma's boy. haha. He said so at the concert and dedicated Learn to Fly to her. AW.

Oh and since we are in the Foo thread, I feel it's appropriate to SQUEE over your icon, San Man. *hugs Taylor again*

I think the first song I knew was LTF. Maybe. Meh, I don't remember. And Elana knows my sad story about Foozer. Sad
