On one of those Leftovers things Dave also said something about being able to play half of any song...hahahah I think it was the 867-5309 one. that's weird that BJ did it too |

Kristy, high school is teh blaaaaah. Ninth grade wasn't that bad for me though, it was eighth that was awful, and 10th has been kinda neutral so far. I can't wait to be a senior and take all easy classes and like ...be DONE. and go to college. But yeah, it's weird, eighth grade was my shitty year but it probably would have been a lot shittier had I not discovered Green Day in the middle of it. Which sounds goofy but I think it's true. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 7797 | February 16th, 2007 at 03:25pm I think my life would've been much shittier if it weren't for Green Day. And a whole bunch of other bands. My 8th grade year was my favorite year so far. 7th was OK. 6th sucked as bad as 9th.
By the way, I saw your comment on Last.FM. Want me to forward you the Replacements stuff I uploaded for El? |

weird I love Green Day for their lyrics. I love Dave and Kurt's lyrics but nothing IMO beats BJ's lyrics. That's why I still love Green Day even though I don't listen to them really anymore. I can always relate to BJ's lyrics. Dave and Billie are definetely my favorite songs writers. I like Dave's cause their more abstract but still understandable (unlike Kurt's ) and I like Billie's cause they more witty and relateable.
BJ's songs on Kerplunk and 1039 are like EXACTLY what a teenager goes through. it's actually kind of scary. I dunno. I think I'm growing to love Dave's lyrics more as I continue to be obsessed with them. Kurt's lyrics.. I love when they make sense . But they usually don't. But I love the poetry in his lyrics I feel like I can relate to Dookie, AI, and Kerplunk SOOO much. It is scary. Sometimes I feel like I wrote the songs.
TWINS. I always could, and still can, relate to BJ's lyrics more than anybody else's, except maybe the first two Weezer albums. Like I just said, Dookie basically got me through 8th grade. And I like Dave's lyrics a lot when it's not, like, This Is a Call or some nonsense...even when he's making sense, though, he has a distinctive style of writing. You know? I can't quite explain it but I could see a couple lines written down, even without any music, and just say, "That's a Dave lyric." |

Yes yes yes! please do.
Haha, for me 6th grade was the best year, and for some reason I hardly remember any of seventh so I guess nothing important happened then.. |

I've never found I was able to relate to Weezer. I dunno. I think Dookie's an album that's universally relateable to all teens. Dave's lyrics are very distinct, you're right. |

Yeahh, that's what everybody says about Dookie. But apparently it's true! And it's just a kickass album to boot. |
