My guitar is in drop A at the moment. I did it to test my tuner and just left it that way.

I'm having a kickass time playing some Live lately. Haven't picked up the guitar seriously in awhile. I need to change out my pickups. And I can't find my practice amp (i know that sounds stupid, but it's a 2 watt marshall micro and i have no idea where I put it.) I just bought a Vox AC30 that's sitting at home waiting for me. I really want to play it, it's gonna sound so goooood.

Never talking to you again by husker du is a great, easy song. I play it when i want to sound good without doing any real work.

Satellite radio is the best $6/mo i've ever spent. I never listen to regular radio anymore.

Live the band? Lightening Crashes = AMAZING.
I want to get the goddamned Peavey Classic 30 Molly I'm gonna call the guitar store tomorrow and see if they ahve any used ones I can test and maybe buy for a cheaper price since I'm poor and ebay is being a bastard Rolling Eyes
I tried out the Vox.. it wasn't bad but I didn't get the sweet sound I got from the Peavey that I love *swoons*
I've had GAS.. I mean I havne't spent anythingbbut I want a new amp, new guitar, pedals fjghdksj. I hate it. I want a new guitar and amp really bad. But I barely have enough for a new amp lmfao. But next guitar.. I have no idea what I'll get. I like the Xplorer but I don't think it's good for my type of music.. it looks cool though.

I love my guitar. it will be with me forever. I stare at it for hours, it's so beautiful.

I like the VOX because it's so tweakable. It works really well with my custom built and tweaked pedals. I have a marshall 30 that I use with my boss/mxr pedalboard because it deals well with the generic sound. But the vox goes so well with the phase90, RAT, compressor, delay, and distortion + I built myself.

I'm looking for a full effects board in the near future, not sure what I want yet, but something.

I'm broke after the amp purchase. Next up is a second geetar.

I don't even own any pedals or whatnot. I've only been playing for about 2 years this summer. I've heard the RAT pedals are awesome. How long have you been playing?

Someone pointed out to me though that as fun as it is to have lots of effects, sometimes being bare without any pedals is fun because you're really playing with the guitar. I agree with him. But then pedals are fun too, but you can get so immersed inthem since there are so many different types.

What type of geetar do you have?

I have a Cort M600:
http://www.cort.co.kr/english/products/common/view.asp?product_id=125

in the antique cherry gloss finish. Pretty much it's my dream to see Dave get up on stage toting one of these someday. They're great guitars and they're CHEAP for what you get. The M600 is about $500, and it's GORGEOUS.

I've only been playing about a year seriously. I messed around with it before that, but I wasn't much good. I'm just a techie, so building my own stuff made sense, and it's a lot cheaper. A script phase 90 would have cost me about $500 but it cost me about $60 to build. The modern phase 90, which isn't as awesome, is about $150. So either way, it was cheaper.

I inherited my boss pedals from my exboyfriend. his parents bought him some insane setup for some holiday and I inherited his digital delay, metal zone, DS-2 turbo, flanger, compressor, and wah. I only use the wah on a regular basis as I'm happier with my other effects.

A good distortion pedal makes guitar so much more fun. Blow some eardrums, play some classics...it's a do all toy. A DS2 sounds alright (Kurt Cobain had one) but a proco rat has this great, tubescreamy distortion...

though, you can actually hear my microamp on "Exhausted" by the foos. it was miked inside of a metal canister to get that dirty, low fi recorded sound. The distortion on this tiny like $45 amp is insane. It sounds so good.

Dave doesn't have great taste in guitar ha. I mean the only one I really like is the Xplorer and that doesn't really have a great sound.. I mean I don't know. IT's got like a crunchy-ish sound but I think it looks fucking cool.

How'd you get into the techie stuff? That's so cool that you know a lot. I mean you know a shitload for just playing for about a year. I try to learn about all this tech stuff but there's just so much to wrap my brain around and it hurts sometimes. You got a fucking good gift from your ex. If I'm gonna get any effects pedel it would be reverb or distortion, other than that I don't really see what other stuff I can use.

At hte moment all I need is a new amp and a footswitch and I'll be happy. And then once I get more money from working over the summer I'll look at other stuff. Although I can't spend too much, sadly because I need to buy a car.

I love the effects that are used on Exhausted. It really makes the song. And then it sounds completely different when it's played acoustically.

I wish I knew more about guitars before I bought mine because now I'm stuck with the classic Fender that everyone has and I want something different that not everyone else has. I like the Gibson SG but Gibsons are fucking expensive and I'm not crazy about the design of the SG. It's pretty big.

Think

Is it weird that my 3 favorite Foo Fighter songs are also probably some of their top 5 longest songs? lmfao

New Way Home - 5:40
Exhausted -5:47
Aurora- 5:51

I think Come Back is the longest but that's like 2 seperate songs. It's almost 8 min long.

I got into the techie stuff because my dad's an electrical engineer, so I grew up on it.

a good phaser is a fun pedal to have, or a chorus.

I'm not a huge gibson fan on the whole. Don't know why, I just don't like them. However, I would take an LP Vixen in the blue color if anyone wants to drop $2k...

anyhoo, Exhausted is my favorite foos song. I like the whole first album better than anything they've ever done.

Yes, that's a firebird. i think he currently has a black one and a white one (white is tuned to drop A, i believe).

There's a new channel on sirius satellite radio that's kickass, Lithium 24. it's all grunge and 90s alternative...all the really good stuff. They've played one song i hated in the 16 hours I've spent in my car in the past week. It's awesome.

they have a lot of bands and songs that don't get airplay anymore...old RHCP, old Green Day, Live, 32 Leaves, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, lot of Foo Fighters (including stuff from S/T which is AWESOME), Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, The Offspring, Nirvana, etc. It's seriously the best radio station ever. I can't turn it off.
Lithium is heavenly. tehe We got a new can a few months ago and it came with free Satelite and I LOVEEEEE Sirius now that we have Lithium. Cheese

Gibson is basically overpriced guitars that you can find anywhere else. I was just looking online and I've already found about 3 or 4 other types of SG made by other companies which are probably about 200-300 bucks cheaper.

The techie stuff sounds awesome.. I'm not sure what I want to do in college but I know I definitely want to do somethign wtih music. Not sure what yet , maybe techie stuff or sound recording.
If I had it my way, I'd be in a famous band and that would be my job but that doesn't look like it's happening but I'm not giving up. Cool

I like There Is Nothing Left To Lose and then S/T is my 2nd fave CD. I love how Exhausted is balanced out by the heavy fuzz and the slow tune. It makes it a great song that at first a person wouldn't think is slow, but then once you listen to it more it's actually a pretty mellow song.

i'm in college, my field is Chemistry. It's...a trip, to be sure.

I hug my guitar on a daily basis. Here's a better pic of what it looks like: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Cort-M600-Electric-Guitar-Blk-Cherry-Burst-Archtop_W0QQitemZ290094501025QQcategoryZ132994QQcmdZViewItem

mmmm lovely.

And I'm going to get shot for saying this, but sometimes with his shades on...doesn't taylor look a little like Kurt?

also, i think the Foos should cover "Somebody to Shove" by Soul Asylum. It's a PERFECT song for Dave's voice.

What college do you go to? I'm taking Chem in high school this yuear. I bet it's a whole different thing. I like it but i don't think I could ever do a science major or anything. A lot of people in my family are doctors or nurses but I'm just not into that. I'm great iwth connecting with people. Rolling Eyes

Your guitar looks pretty. Smile DId you name it? Wink Ha I named mine Slappy and then if I get another one I'm going to name it Wayne. Very Happy
I have an acoustic but it's technically not mine so I don't feel like I can name it.

Taylor and Kurt sort of have simlar hair and they both have the whole beard thingy but then the style and shape of their face is just completely different. I mean for one Kurt's teeth are much better than Taylor's and their eyes are completely different. And Kurt has the little thingamajiggy in his chin.

I look at way too many pictures lmfao.

heh. I think I saw this picture where taylor had kinda round plastic shades on and it really reminded me of Kurt for whatever reason. I think it's the long blonde hair.
