WAH What interview?
AND HI KRISTY Oh god, i forget. I saw it SO long ago. I think it was a really old one, like 80's-ish. It's also at the begining of Nevermind: "They call me the swan cause I wave my magic wand and I love all the women to death."
HI EL HOW ARE YOU?
lfmao. That makes no sense but tyhat's okay! haha
I'm okay. I'm hungry Stupid jewish holiday |

I'd kill to know what dave is putting in his guitars. In the early days they looked like stock gibson pickups but I doubt they are now, unless that's part of his endorsement deal.
I don't think Dave knows anything about parts of guitars. It's probaby all his techies. |

Yeah, that's probably what I'm going to do when I get a new guitar. I've been looking for info on what Paul Westerberg used on his guitar in the 80's, but I'll probably just base it off of BJ's cause I found that and he based his off of a combo of Mick Jones and Paul (or so I've heard). |

Age: 37 Gender: Female Posts: 265 | April 3rd, 2007 at 04:42pm I love Lithium. I play it on my computer all the time, since internet radio is free with my subscription.
Dave talks guitar a little bit, but he's got to have some idea now what he likes to play.
I remember hearing somewhere that he happened to have a Tama kit and it stuck when he joined nirvana, since he ended up with an endorsement, and he's still using them today. I also seem to recall barret jones (his drum tech from the scream/nirvana days) saying that they used aquarian heads because they were the only ones that wouldn't break.
weenie beenie is a really bizarre song lol. |

Age: 37 Gender: Female Posts: 265 | April 3rd, 2007 at 04:51pm HAHAHA dave is rediculous- he got annoyed and changed the words to "Big Me" to "I wanna fucking puke":
Dave: *burps* (crowd cheers) Thanks very much, that's our next single, called "I wanna fucking puke." This song's called I wanna fucking puke.
When I talk about it
carries on
reasons only knew
when I talk a bout it
aries or I'm gonna fucking puke
it's so fucking hot in here
i think i might puke
it's probably a hundred and thirty
that's enough to make me puke.
well I talked about it
put it on
then I fuckin puked
but it's you, i puked onto
when i talk about it
carries on
reasons only knew
when i talk about it
aries or i'm gonna fucking puke
wouldn't you like to puke?
it might make you feel better
puking up on the floor
make it way more wetter
well i talked about it
put it on
never was it true
but it's you i puked onto.
if he ad libbed that, i swear to god, that's the most genius thing I've ever heard. |

I have to admit that's kind of how I am at the moment... I mean, I know a little, but not nearly as much as I should know. But I need to get educated because I'm going looking for an amp pretty soon. *pays close attention to equipment-geek discussion* |

I saw this one guitar of Mick's at the Hall of Fame, I think it was an Epiphone and it was huge, wider than Jonesy himself probably Struck me as sort of strange. |

What are you playing? a standard strat? that uses single coils, so you actually have a lot of options. I'm a fan of pulling out the standard strat pickups and putting in something dirtier- strats sound really bright and bubbly to me, and I like things to sound like you might have accidentally run the guitar through the washing machine. I like the SD JB on a strat.
My personal guitar has a DiMarzio PAF pro in the neck position and a DiMarzio super distortion at the bridge position. I'm liking it a lot. I want to pick up a white guitar so I can leave my pickups exposed, because the PAF pro is hot pink!
You're right, I've got a Strat and it does sound really bright, kinda twangy almost, no matter how much distortion you try to slap on it. That's why I'm looking for a new guitar, but maybe I should just mess around with the pickups? Then again I'd probably do serious damage so maybe not.
I need to stop this triple-posting business. But you're all always here like twenty minutes before me, so what can I do? |

and this Dave

are my faves.
those very well might be my favorites as well.
Ooer, and I like the star tattoo you said you were going to get on your wrist. I personally like it with the blue but that's just me *shrug* |

Age: 37 Gender: Female Posts: 265 | April 3rd, 2007 at 06:43pm A strat is always going to sound kinda bright. You can dirty up the sound by modifying it for humbuckers but unless you're really attached to the way the guitar plays, it might be worth just getting a new guitar with humbuckers. They have a much warmer, deeper sound than a strat will.
true to form, three hours after saying I wanted a white guitar, I bought one. Cort M200, piano white. Here come the pink pickups! I paid $250 for it new, couldn't beat that.
On the subject of amps...what are you currently using, and what kind of music do you most want to play? |
