Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | September 16th, 2007 at 06:34am I'm watching the KROQ LA Invasion on webstream now. setlist:
Everlong
Monkey Wrench
My Hero
Up In Arms
LTF
Breakout
The One
Stacked Actors
Long Road to Ruin
Best of You
Darling Nikki
The Pretender
All My Life
Dave proceeded to call Best of You "an old song" Silly Dave. It's a good concert. Dave all of a sudden looked like he was ready to collapse during the middle of Best of You. Just got exhausted all of a sudden.
I like how they're opening wih Everlong now and closing wih All My Life. But I don't like All My Life as a closer It's their best opener and it's a pump up song.. to me it should be a song to get everoyne pumped up for the show and to set the platform for the rest of their show |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 5438 | September 16th, 2007 at 07:03pm Yeah, All My Life isn't really a closer. But oh well, THEY'RE DOING DARLING NIKKI!!!! And why are they opening with Everlong?! *waves the wtf flag* That's THE closing song. Silly Foos.
Why won't I like the new album? I LISTEN TO SOME THINGS THAT AREN'T FREAKISHLY LOUD SOMETIMES, YOU KNOW. And a guitar-centric album is a fabulous thing and Christopher is a beautiful man so there.
OMG KRISTY. *bounces off the walls* Now I'M excited and I'm not even the one going to the show with the fabulous seats. The other ones didn't go on sale yet did they? *goes to look* |

I've been at SCHOOL! and FIELD HOCKEY! And I know that if I get on the computer after practice then I'll be on for hours and then I won't go to sleep and/or I'll miss the Daily Show so I just don't bother. Maybe once I get AIM on my laptop I'll be on more. I miss you too love |

And Gin Blossoms? And Joe Walsh? You suck.
Fine. Pfft. I'm addicted to the comp so I can't stay away anyways And besides I'm a normal teenager and I dont go to bed at 10 or 9. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 5438 | September 16th, 2007 at 07:54pm Joe Walsh just makes me laugh And I just couldn't really dig the Gin Blossoms. They weren't BAD, they just didn't really grab me. So to speak.
I'm a semi-normal teenager who wants to at least TRY sleeping, since all last year I don't think I once went to bed before 11. neh neh neh. Not that it really matters, I sleep in physics no matter when I go to bed. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 5438 | September 16th, 2007 at 08:59pm Hey guys. I'm writing a column in my school magazine this year reviewing/recommending classic albums (which here means "albums released before 1991". And I'm looking for relatively obscure stuff more than Beatles, Zeppelin, etc). I think I'm doing Let It Be by the Replacements for the first issue (thank you Kristy ) but I'm open for suggestions beyond that. Any ideas? |

The Police's Every Breath You Take
Queen A Day At the Races/ A Night at the Opera
Rolling Stones
Steve Miller!
Talkin Heads
Pink Floyd
And I've realized I need to upgrade my classic rock selection. |

Pssh. Sleep is overrated. I go to bed at 230and wake up at 1030 and my day is dandy and all. I do'n't think I've gone to sleep earlier than 12/1230 this year so far |

It's totally backwards! Read it from bottom to top and it PWNS. And DARLING NIKKI!!!!!!!!!! IF THEY PLAY THAT AT THE BORGATA I WILL HAVE A SPAZZ ATTACK. |

I read the topic and saw the year and my first thought was LET IT BE. Other recommendations (aka my favorite albums ever):
The Clash's first album
David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
The Who - Tommy (not terribly obscure, but overlooked compared to Who's Next, ect.)

The Police's Every Breath You Take
Queen A Day At the Races/ A Night at the Opera
Rolling Stones
Steve Miller!
Talkin Heads
Pink Floyd
And I've realized I need to upgrade my classic rock selection. Kristy elaborates on El's recomendations.
Every Breath You Take is a compilation, don't use that. Their first album is pretty sweet though, Annie, you might even like it.
Rolling Stones I'd say Beggar's Banquet (because I LOVE Sympathy for the Devil) or Let it Bleed.
Steve Miller, maybe Fly Like an Eagle, which might as well be a greatest hits album. Nearly every song on it was a hit.
Talking Heads you know well enough, probably better than me. Pink Floyd make me wanna vomit. |

EEE.I will have a spaz attack with you if they play it I think it's funny they're playing it a lot now since Prince hated them at first for covering the song but then he did Best of You which noone still knows why he did that if it was a shot at the Foo or a kind gesture or whatever.
Yeah the setlist is so screwed up. There's like mixed feelings about AML being a closer. I personally don't like it. but then someone else was talking to me and they said it makes the audience feel like they're leaving being kicked in the teeth which i totally can see but it's just a better opener IMO. Meanwhile... I don't like Everlong solo. Goddammit. It needs to be with the full band and with the new wave drumming and everything.. the song works best with the full band |

Dammit. I suck with CDs. I realized I don't have that many older CDs and the ones I do, half of them are compilations But ask me for 90s stuff and I've got tons of stuff with Candlebox, Gin Blossoms, Collective Soul, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana ...etc
Pink Floyd sucks but they're an inspirational band to others. Sometimes you gotta swallow the hatred and just do your job and write about it. |

I swear, if it were backwards, it would be PERFECT. And I like both Everlongs. |

Pink Floyd sucks but they're an inspirational band to others. Sometimes you gotta swallow the hatred and just do your job and write about it. All of my CDs are old ones, and I have a few compilations, but usually I find that the bands that the first album I buy of theirs is a compilation, I end up loving and buying the rest of the discog. (ex. The Mats, The Clash, Green Day) It's a fucking curse.
Oh, and about Pink Floyd. I say don't write about them unless if you're obligated to. |

Not too shabby. I would get it. You'd still have like 15 bucks leftover. |
