| High Fidelity Falling In Love With The Board Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 7797 | Ok, so now it's time for my MASSIVE ramble. So we got there at 5:30 but the doors didn't open till 7, and the Foos didn't go on till 9, so until then, I was freaking spazzing. My dad was ready to smack me, as was this old guy who was standing in front of us. So between 7 and 8, I had to put up with my excitement and the people around me being retarded ("I saw them on their first tour ever, they were touring with RHCP!", "Tyler is an awesome drummer!", ex.), but I was with my dad who probably would've yelled at me if I said something to the clueless middle aged people making those comments. It was a painful 2 hours before the Foo show, I honestly checked the clock on my phone at least 100 times. The opening act (Hi-Fi Handgrenades) went on at 8, and they were... eh... they were OK, but all of their songs sounded the same so that made for a boring half hour. They were like shitty Green Day rip-offs. So when they were done at 8:30, they put some James Gang album on the speakers (I'm assuming it was a best of), which was probably Taylor's choice. I was thinking "EL WOULD'VE BEEN SOOOO HAPPY!" Then 9 o'clock came around and the Foos still weren't on the stage, they were about 15 minutes late or so, but everyone was freaking the hell out. It was really funny. When the Foos finally came on the stage, it was fucking awesome. Dave came out playing the opening picking part to Let it Die, and I swear my heart jumped out of my chest. I've honestly never been that fucking happy in my life. And I mean, once it hit me that THE FOO FIGHTERS WERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, I started screaming "OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD" and probably sounded like a total moron, but oh well.  The girl in front of me spent half the time screaming "I LOVE YOU DAVE!" Taylor looked REALLY good though, I must say. ... Anyways. The Pretender was next, everyone was really into that which was awesome. I was insanely pissed that I was the ONLY person there that knew the words to Stacked Actors! I looked around the entire place and thought, "am I seriously the only one singing along?!" And I do believe I was. I know I'm going completely out of order... but oh well. Blahhh. But, Honestly was great live, so much better than on the album. Everlong had me in tears. Oh my god, it was so fucking beautiful. Best of You was a GREAT closer, it was awesome to headbang to and such. My only two complaints are that they didn't play Aurora, and that they didn't have "tour t-shirts" just Foo ones, but I bought one anyways. I loved how it was a really small show (only about 2000 people) and everyone there was really into it, most of them lived nowhere near AC, but still came, which was awesome. And holy fucking shit, I was so close. So that's it. Best night of my life. |

Dave: He didn't slap MY ass! Well now Chris has your buttsweat. Go buy Taylor's butt sweat at the merch stand! Hell, we can pay for our buses with that! In the front row there was this TOTALLY drunk dad with his 6 or 7 year old son, so Dave said to the kid "come up on stage, get away from drunk dad!" which was really nice of him. And then he started saying to the dad "I doubt you're going to remember ANY of this, can you even see?!" Taylor: I love you Dave! Dave: AWW I LOVE YOU TAY! ... Yeah, I love you too, Drunk Dad! *Someone throws Mentos on stage* Dave: Do I see MENTOS!? What are you like 40?! You're showing your age, man. |
