I loooove G tuning, it sounds so cool. Especially for bluesy stuff. Since we have 2 acoustics now I want to tune one into G permanently so I can play Daughter and other xcore songs but Tom keeps tuning them back because he's anal like that. *kicks him*
Nothing like a joint Stewart/Colbert interview to read in the hospital.
I wanted to do that with my guitars. I have an electric and acoustic and I was gonna tune one in a different one and another in standard. I mostly switch back and forth btwn drop D and standard but I've gotten better so I can acutally tune my strings by ear I just can't hear songs and stuff and distinguish chords gah. It'll take time. I'm proud that I can tune strings by ear though. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 5438 | November 26th, 2006 at 09:39pm Woooeee for tuning by ear!! :
I can tell a progression...like, I can say that it goes from the I chord to the IV to the V but that's just me taking piano and being a music geek. I can't tell what key the song's in, though. I make Tom do that and then figure the rest out from there if I can.
For All the Cows is sooooo fun. And I was so excited watching Ev. but Home...I was like "AHHH CHRIS IS PLAYING IT THE EXACT SAME WAY I PLAY IT!" |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | November 26th, 2006 at 09:41pm HAHA. I watched Everywhere But Home last night I love that DVD I've watched it tooo many times. SKIN AND BONES IN 2 DAYS. I'M EXCITED. I'm gonna try to get it ASAP. Trying to figure out how and when though
Gah your brother is so musical. My brother used to play piano so he can hear well. He doesn't know what chords things are but he knows when things are out of tune and when I'm using as he calls "a fucked up tuning" If I use drop d and forget to tune it back and he pretends to play he knows its not right and he makes me fix it |

Yeah, my mom's been in the hospital since Friday so I left it there with her so she can get a chuckle. |

My brother used to be xcore pianist when he was young. He acutally did shows and stuff but then one summer my mom gave him a choice of whether or not he wanted to play baseball or piano and he chose baseball. My mom is retarded and my brother is mad at her about it cuz he said he could have been really good and now he can't remember shit. But it explains his good ear for music |

Mine was "softball bat or hockey stick?" and I picked the hockey stick. But guitar was never really an issue with sports and stuff because I taught myself for most of the time. |

MY friend used to play drums but he quit cuz he didn't have time. I was like.. if you really love it you'll make time for it. I play sports, work and have school and shit and I still make time for guitar. It may not be everyday but I mkae sure I play it a lot of I dn't play for a while. I think the most I ever played was for 3 hours straight I get imaptient and bored |
