This probably isn't very exciting, but I found it ironic. I was listening to Stay Free and someone came over and told me that a boy at our school had committed suicide. Just a little strange coincidence.

My Spanish teacher wants me to bring in Spanish Bombs tomorrow for class...we'll see how Ridgefield High School deals with the Clash.

Oh, that would suck, I would think about some kid commiting suicide everytime after hearing that song if I were you Sad
Yay Spanish Bombs.
That reminds me, today in French II, our french teacher played us some French song called "Bubble Star" (I don't know how to say it in French), and I was laughing at it, coz it was hilarious sounding, and she goes "It's definatley NOT The Clash!!!" and she was laughing too. I found that amusing.

yeah it'll be a while before I can hear that song again without thinking about him. Yeah I have one other Clash fan my Spanish class, and he goes "Senora, play Spanish Bombs!" and she goes "Oh I don't think I can do that in class- that sounds violent!" and then we explain that it was about the Spanish Revolution and she told us to bring it in.

I went into the school bathroom today and there was graffitti everywhere saying "RIP" to the kid, and I went to the far wall and wrote "STAY FREE" in big gold letters. I felt it was fitting.

I stopped listening to Green Day, but that song I will always remember.

Happy thoughts now... I watched a Croatian seria today and this guy and his friend wanted to make a punk band and he wore this great London Calling t-shirt that was ripped and then pinned up and this other guy made a joke about it and he mentioned Joe in the joke Very Happy I would translate it, but it sounds stupid in english. Acctually its not much fun in Croatian either, its just a rhyme with Joe`s name. I loved the fact that the guy wore the shirt through the whole episode and its one of my favorite shows. And the fact that Croatia had something like this suprises me Rolling Eyes

I have to write a film review for my english class so its either gonna be Hell W10 or Forrest Gump Think

yeah JAR is another song like that...that's awesome that he was wearing a London Calling shirt! I love those shirts, but the fact that it was ripped and pinned makes it 10 times better!

I know! The shirt looked brilliant, too bad their band didnt succed.

I found a whole page article about The single boxes. Well its not so much about that, its about Clash and Joe. It was written so beautifuly I cried. The journalist is a rock critic and he rated The singles with 5 stars and that is really rare, a big thing to get. Anyway, that journalist wrote how much he loves Clash and how they really changed his life. Then there are top 3 Clash songs choosen by Croatian`s punk legends. Then some sentences about Joe, how he was a great and a revolutionary person and how Clash how done so much and how we need a band like that these days. It was so powerful it really touched me.

I brought in Washington Bullets because it's basically about what we are studying in AmIn. Brought it in on..Tuesday. It has yet to be played. But I cannot wait to see the reactionof my fellow students, as Mr. N. thought it was great enough to play. And he's gonna play it for all of the classes, because my friend told me about him talking about it in her class.

EDIT: I have a question. Who dubbed them the only band that matters?

Yeah when we played Senora was like "OH ES MUY BUENO!!!" some kids liked it, but the majority were like "wtf?". It's a shame...

So my teacher did play Washington Bullets for the class (finally). No one knew what Sandinista meant (surprise). One girl asked what 'kokane guns' and 'Jamdown Town' were because my teacher made an over-head of the lyrics and asked what we didn't understand. I think that's irrelevant to what we were studying, so I became disgusted with her. Then after the song played, one guy said it was 'hippie music'. And then another guy asked me where I got the cd, so I told him i got it from my cd collection. He incredulously asked if I liked that music. To which I replied "uh..Yeah."

I saw a horrible commercial on tv today- it's these two guys walking down the street and they're listening to Rock The Casbah...and they're both sining it wrong and one guy is like "no way man, it's rock the cat box" and so they both start singing it like that and then it's like "You don't have to understand your music to enjoy it" and it's for some downloading company....

Arrgg!!!(to the second thing)
That commercial is so untrue...I think you should at least have a good idea about what your music is about...not only liking the songs beat etc lyrics, I think you owe it to the artist, or yourself, to know what the damn song is about.
