She isn't Joe Strummer's neice... according to this interview:
Pitchfork: But you grew up around fame. Did you not expect those things would happen?
Lily Allen: I've been around famous people, but I don't think about them that way. Joe Strummer was my father's best friend but I knew him as Uncle Joe, carrying a bottle of whiskey around. The famous people that I have been around were all really relaxed, not the Ozzy Osbourne types, driving around in limos.
But also apparently the Clash are one of her top 10 bands. I don't care I still like her more now though! That's so cool. Her music is very fresh as well as her style. She isn't at all like other stuff you hear on the radio nowadays. That's really awesome. |

I bought a huge poster with the cover of the first album. And the dude in the shop likes Clash so we had a chat and my mom was like huh, what are they talking about. It was funny. |

Yeah my Mom's like that whenever I go off on a Sex Pistols chat with someone. She gets the Clash though 'cause she's starting to like them a lot. She's watched the Bankrobber video on youtube 10 times. I'm not complaining though. |

And I put some lyrics on the wall too and she was reading them, but understanding English is not one of her best qualities so I don't think she get a thing. |

I remember in HMV on Oxford Street I had my G.B.H. shirt on and one of the guys who works there was passing me and looked at my shirt and scream out, I mean screamed, 'Wow, you've got a G.B.H. shirt. I can't believe kids your age even listen to that still. You, man, have got class.'
He then proceeded to turn towards the rest of the shop, and for those who haven't been, it is a very big shop, most of whom were already staring and he then shouted to those who weren't, 'Hey, everyone, look at that girl. She has got class.'
Embarressed as I was, he was a really cool guy. That was kinda fun, being picked on like that, not that I enjoy the lime light. After all that, I asked him to cash my CD's and he discounted me. The Beat for only five pounds is not bad at all. |

 | March 11th, 2007 at 12:55pm Yeah with me I usually just get funny looks whenever I'm out around town because I'm different, but I absolutely love it when someone picks up on me and we have a good conversation about the Clash or the Pistols or whatever. When that happens it's just a good feeling of "Oh good, there are some sane people around here. Excellent". |

 | March 11th, 2007 at 04:07pm The problem is, I don't got much band t-shirts so at school on Friday I asked this boy from my class if he could borrow me his mp3 cause I know he likes rock and he was all I don't have anything for you, you Like Good Charlotte. And I was like WTF, I don't like them and than he said I like Blink if not them. So I asked if he has heard of The Clash and some other bands I like and he hasn't. I mean the prejudices... Cant wait to show up at school with my new Rancid t-shirt |

No, I did not scream at him in an excited manner when I saw him walking down the hall with the London Calling single picture shirt. o_o |

 | March 16th, 2007 at 11:09am Does that idiot even know who Frederico Garcia Lorca is? He has no clue about the background of the song at all and should have nothing to say about it then. He's just someone too bored with his own life to care and needs to distress others to make him feel better. |
