Dr. Cuddy:
The problem is, I don't got much band t-shirts so at school on Friday I asked this boy from my class if he could borrow me his mp3 cause I know he likes rock and he was all I don't have anything for you, you Like Good Charlotte. And I was like WTF, I don't like them and than he said I like Blink if not them. So I asked if he has heard of The Clash and some other bands I like and he hasn't. I mean the prejudices... Cant wait to show up at school with my new Rancid t-shirttehe
I need to show everyone my new The Specials jackety type thing. I loooove the fabric of this jacket. Got it at a sale and it's beautiful.

If you don't have any band Tees, make them yourself. That's what I used to do because I never got money. To make money sometimes I'd sell them and then buy a proper one.

pfft.
i hate it when people judge them on ONE thing
Quote
...drunken slurring over half assed lyrics and pale white boy imitations of musical styles they don't understand.

It's like they didn't even listen to the album. Cheese

This is worse than when people just judge them on "Rock the Casbah," IMO.

Okay, that made me incredibly mad, not to mention I think I lost brain cells just reading it.
If you're going to critisize a band's music, you don't have to get personal about it...and if you do that, at least have a statement to back it up.
"Bourgeois amphetamine addicts trying to be punks."
Uh, what? I don't recall The Clash doing amphetamine. Pot...yes. Cocaine..yes. No amphetamine.
And, trying to be punk? What??? Who ever said they were?
No use in complaining though. Stupid people can't register this stuff through their brains (or lack thereof)

Do we know if there are going to be some of the Mescaleros in the film too? Because they are my favorite band right now. ...I think I just want to see more people who know him more intimately, even if the person isn't famous. I dunno if some of those people do.

I was in the next town over earlier this afternoon and I saw this store that looked pretty sketchy, so naturally I went in. It was all punk rock stuff and I bought a Clash poster and when I asked the guy at the counter how much it was he said "what what? I'm kinda going deaf here. I've been blasting the Clash for too long". And he went off on this story of when he went to see the Clash, but he was upset because he'd only seen them after Mick was out of the group. He said they had still given him the best night of his life, and he gave me a discount on the poster. I like him.

Lucky.

Bleh, the people round here care too much about business & money to care about whether you like good music.

But I had a nice conversation a bout flogging molly with some guy at a stall though. But I still had to buy a tunnel for a rip off price :C

I've been looking for a good clash shirt for ages... but I can't find one I like D:

I still get that sick feeling in my gut when I think about Joe's death.

I have the Ramones' Weird Tales of the Ramones set with the three CD's and a DVD and it comes with these 3-D glasses for a page in the comic book which is also included in the set, and there's all these drawings and stories and comic strips about the Ramones. I'll scan one in to show you, but there's this sad one about some girl in the strip who had a dream about Joey Ramone and they were making out. And in her dream Joey Ramone tells her that he has to leave and they cray together in her dream before he goes away. When she wakes up she finds out that Joe Strummer is dead. It's such a sad strip. I actually cried reading it.

So I went to the Rock Hall. It was pretty cool. I didn't know what to expect, except I think I wanted it to be bigger. Everything bigger. I dunno though.

Also. We found this cool little corner store, and the guy was selling this Clash DVD I had never seen before. I bought it because it was all of this live stuff from 76 to 80. I watched it today and it is pretty awesome. Parts of it were in Westway and parts of it were bonus on the Essential Clash. But then there was this other part that was, what I assume, a complete taped live show. It was cool to see them doing songs that I hadn't seen/ heard live before. I'll post a photo of it eventually, when I try to be smart and do something.

Well I always wondered something.... Is the shipping price big, because I live in Croatia and I know you can order from some shops, but I'm afraid to do it cause I don't want to live the credit card number.

Well I'm reading The Liar, a book by Stephen Fry and one of the characters is Gary, who is a punk. Well that is a detail of very small importance, but at one point it says that when Gary started History of art on Cambridge he stopped wearing bondage trousers, started having normal hair colour and that The Damned and The Clash were less likely to be heard on the hallway.

I was in the village today and I picked up this Clash bootleg - Trick Or Treat. It's supposedly from the Clash at Bond's, but the album says it was recorded at Bond's on October 31st, 1982. which is after their time at Bond. Did they go back to New York and play again, or did I just get a really phoney album?

Never heard of that bootleg. Maybe you got something really rare or something really phony. Faith

edit:

K, so I did some research and here is what I have found. They mention here something about it. Check the More Clash CDs part! However it says its from 1981. Here it says that its a 1982 Halloween show! This is the most detailed explanation. Read the FM Recording part.
