'Paul Simonon plays bass, smiles a lot, lopes around like a grossly underfed gorilla on a vitamin B and methedrine cure for malnutrition and catches the fancy of more women than the rest of the band put together - Patti Smith, for example.' - Pete Silverton, The Clash: Greatness From Garageland

My dad got me a new Clash shirt while he was away. Not one that I would have gotten for myself, but it's nice that he was thinking of me. Very Happy

Ah! So damn, angry!

Stupid newspaper. In the local paper about a week ago, a review of The Future is Unwritten was published by some bloody, boorish bastard who can't tell apart his arse from his elbow.

He wrote about how the guitarist of The Clash, Paul Jones, was noticably absent from said documentary. Futhermore, he never mentions a certain Mick Jones at all, and Mick was in the movie! What an arse-headed-hole, too ignorant to even bother doing proper research into it. I'm so damn angry. The only reason I've kept the article is because of the picture of Joe.

OMFG
That really annoys me, when they don't have good reseachers, proof readers etc.
:@
And even more so about the clash.

Just the ridiculousness makes me so fed up. I know I should laugh, but it's kinda a little sad for me that some people can't care less.

I'm reading Reasons to be cheerful (by Mark Steel) & of what I've read so far there was a little bit about the Clash/Joe Strummer & socialism.

Sounds good, maybe I'll read it too. Fizz

I have to write a letter/essay/something for my history class on political lyrics, it's kind of confusing, but anyways... I wanna use a Clash song, has to be school appropriate. I was thinking Know Your Rights (the obvious) but it seems like my teacher's looking for more of lyrics on an exact event. I know there's a million options (Washington Bullets, Rock the Casbah, ect.) but I can't pick one. lmfao Suggestions? tehe

Yeah I was gonna say Spanish Bombs.

But I really think white riot would be a good choice. Bah @ school appropriate-ness. What do they expect for political lyrics?

White Riot was my first thought when he gave the assignment... but I'm not sure how "school appropriate" it is. We're only using a few lines though so... Dno
