Okay.
But wouldn't you rather they go out with a (many apologies for this one) bang than just to deflate slowly?

To make you appreciate these rules.. these are the rules from another SD forum on a different site.
Fuck the pretense of civility! You all know that your opinions have, at this point in your life, become pretty much inalterable. And even if they do change, it won't be on account of someone calmly and rationally explaining to you the error in your ways, because human minds simply don't respond to logic--sad, but true beyond all denial.
The only thing that can change people's minds is severe trauma and dirty mind games.
My recommendation is that you insult your opponents so viciously that they either apologize for offending you or lose their tempers and attack you. In either instance, the best thing to do is suddenly become rational and articulate, thus confusing them further and making you seem like a gentleman to those monitoring the debates (remember, people are stupid and have short attention-spans).
This may not change their minds, but they’ll be too disoriented, angry or apologetic to decently continue the fight, leaving you free to attack them in subtler ways, convincing those monitoring the debate that only a fool would hold your opponents position. And if they themselves hold such an opinion, they’re bound to keep their mouths shut to avoid being slandered, making it appear that you are unopposed in your assessments.
Remember, the object of debating isn’t to change peoples minds or advance new ideas, but to assert your superiority over all those who challendge you in even the slightest way.

You're right. Those do make me appreciate the rules here. Those rules are...imagine how scary the rulemaker must be!

Well, honestly I didn't find him scary at all. The only way he could express himself was childishly lashing out at others. He wasn't a good debater, he didn't state his opinion well. The only thing he was good at doing was making other people feel horrible and stupid. Thats why we have the no insulting rule in here. If you can't debate with out hurting others, you can't debate to begin with.
He didn't like me. Im banned from his site now.

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but a thread I made yesterday seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth, and I just wondered what happened to it, cos there was no obvious reason for it to be deleted or anything.
Any idea what happened? Or why?
