across the Internet I've seen some quite heated debates on this - why does it matter so much to lots of people? I don't understand. I like to play with a pick but I also use my fingers, it depends how I feel. I've never heard a similar debate with other instruments. |

You summed it up well.
There is nothing wrong with using a pick. I use a pick.
There's no good reason why we shouldn't use one anyways. |

Well its depend on what genre you're playing, if you don't use pick for punk songs, well that's a shame... |

well, bass on lotta green day songs is kinda simple, i think you should find it out by yourself ('cept you're a newbie) it will help to get your 'instinct' later on. |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 68 | November 29th, 2006 at 08:16pm Does anyone know where to find the ACTUAL CORRECT Bass Tab? I always thought this was right (part during all distortion guitar and stuff):
5-5-5-5-5-5-0-0-0-0-0-4-4-4-4-4-
but its not, i just realized the 0 is supposed to be higher then 5 and 4, not lower.. |

And why not? A pick gives you a totally different tone, and when you play something that uses chords, you'll most likely have to use a pick. What do you have against using a pick?
Different people have different preferences, even Flea uses a pick on some occasions. |
