The Rochdale Children

There was just a programme on television called "When Satan Came To Town" and it involved a load of families having their children taken off them because they supposedly sexually abused them in Satanic rituals.
Do you believe the social workers were right?

I believe they were totally wrong. It was OBVIOUS the parent's hadn't done anything of the sort, the social workers managed to twist things the children said, the children had to go through a sexual examination...it was awful.

The children still haven't recieved an apology, and between them they spent something like 34 years 6 months in care. All because of these social workers. And there wasn't even any evidence. That is absolutly disgusting, and in my opinion, the only people abusing were the social workers.

No evidence? That's ridiculous. What made them think the children were being sexually abused in the first place anyway? Did the children get to have their say?

They got shoved in an interview room for hours, one by one, and questioned over and over again. One boy had a dream about a ghost and it was interpreted that the ghost symbolised his abusers...
I have no idea what made them think it to be honest. But EVERYTHING the children said was completly ignored, the children constantly said that everything was fine at home, but the social workers just heard what they wanted to hear...
It was CRUEL!

if theres no evidence then whyd tey even think that. typical they dot help the 1s that need it and scarr the 1s that are fine. thats disgusting and theyer all scarred for life now....thats awful...

It happened way back in 1990 and the council had silenced all the children. However, there has recently been a court case which allows the children (all grown up now) to talk about it. And they were still getting upset about it. They were truely traumatised.

Did anything happen to the soical workers? like were they fired or at least made pay compensation?

It was this case that made the strict social services rules come in, and they were all ordered to get proper training. I mean, in one of the interviews, the social worker was constantly ringing through to the room next door and asking for advice. I think a couple of them were sacked.

If I want to preform a Satanic ritual to somehow abuse my child, that's between me and my child (Don't worry, I'm not saying that I'm going to). But one day, for all the families, a load of police and social workers barged straight into their house, and took the kids straight off to be interviewed. Just...took them.

yes you can say future law suit!!! I am taking my local social services to court for lack of protection, (when i was about 12 i am now well,..older)

SOCIAL WORKERS ARE RUBBISH THEY COME IN AND DESTROY LIVE, MARRIAGES, HOMES, MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

So, theoretically, you think its none of their business if you are 'abusing' your child?

You theoretically think its okay to perform 'satanic' rituals on them?

If you actually were doing harmful stuff to them, i'd say they were more than within their right to take your kids away, if you ever were in such a situation. Which you won't ever be, I know...

But cases such as this are sick and tragic...Even though there isn't a great deal that can be done about them. Also, remeber that most social workers are very caring people who do more good than harm, even though in this case they wern't.
